Need Name For A Home Based Business

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Hi,

I am about to open a Boutique SPA in my condo to give facials mainly, but also waxing, paraffin treatments, tinting - No manicure and No pedicure.

I live in a high-end area and my condo is new (built in 2009), with light colors, greate view over a little pond and a Golf Course. It is so clean and nice that looks really like a SPA.

How should I advertise myself on my business cards and my flyers? Any ideas for a catchy name yet won't mislead clients? My name alone won't work since there is nothing relaxing about it ...

Thanks for any brainstorming ideas.

    How about "Serenity Spa".

Take pictures of your place, and put it in the fliers. Make sure that your place looks serene. Lighting is also important in a spa. Dim lights are best for relaxing.

    Coining a name is tricky.

It should be distinct, create ownership for you, easy to pronounce, has multi sensory appeal and the most important, it should reflect the values of the business.

It need not always mean something great at the first sight but it should be able to build value based on experience. Take Kodak for example. It fits all the parameters to a T. And when you buy their photo equipment and think Kodak, it works like the pressing of the photo button:Kodak! Great audible branding. And so the name sticks.

Think beyond the basic feature of your brand. Do not just think "calm" and "soothing". Go beyond to a value that customers will decipher and it will mean something special to them over time. It is not an easy exercise. But do it. Remember, a great name, can be the biggest foundation to success.

    All the best.

How about Sensuo. and the tagline could be Take a moment for you

Thanks for all your suggestions, comments.

Sensuo - would not be a good name though since there are not going to be any sensual/sexual/and the like facials/massages/interactions in my Boutique SPA.

As for the condo association and its rules, of course you are right Phil. Yet I know at least 4 other estheticians who are offering their services in their apartments only to relatives, friends, and friends-of-friends.
It is more honest to offer your services/ run your little business this way then say ... going to China and buy a pair of underware for 5cents and then run back to America with it and sell it for 10$ ...

If anyone has any more ideas for names, I would appreciate your input... Something that came to my mind would be Holistic Facials or Natura or something like that since I am going to use organic products ...

    Thanks again.
