Canine Rescue Organization - Tagline Needed

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am in marketing and volunteering for a Canine Rescue group that is rather new and looking to update their marketing materials. They currently have a logo that is great, but it simply states the name of the organization - Good Buddies Canine Rescue. I have explained that I think adding a tag line to their logo could help give the reader a quick intro to what this rescue group does and how it sets itself apart from other rescues.

With that said, I am looking to help them develop a tag line that fits their mission and is also catchy.

Here is how their "about us" page currently reads on their website:

Good Buddies Canine Rescue began in October of 2009 by some local animal lovers wanting to make a difference. GBCR focuses on the rescue of Shepherd mixes and black dogs. Many animals are euthanized across the state of Kentucky due to pet overpopulation and lack of adoptive families in rural areas. GBCR strives to bring rural dogs that have fewer chances of adoption to the greater Cincinnati area in order to provide them with better opportunities. All dogs in the care of GBCR will be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption.

I understand that there are separate groups that work to save individual breeds of dogs. That said, you could do well with just your business name.

If you're set on identifying breeds, your tagline could be "Specializing in Shepherds and Mixes".

Who is your target audience? What is the marketing objective? What is it you want someone to do when they learn of the organization? What does success look like for your organization? How do you measure it?

It's really important that you answer these questions before we set off in quest of a tagline (or a new name). Otherwise we're chasing a phantom.
