Name For Senior Program

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I work for a Credit Union, and we are starting a Senior Program for members 55+.

The program will offer discounts on financial services as well as free seminars and gym memberships. We are partnering with the Gym located next door, so I am trying to keep the name general, as they are promoting the program in their business as well.

I know that the name "senior" has negative connotations, which is why I am desperate for a new, creative and catchy name.

Please help!

The seminars will be about different topics, some will be about financial matters (IRAs, online banking), others will be about health and nutrition.

I am hoping to keep the name short, and be combined with either "Club" or "member"....for instance, "I am a Silver Member" or in the "Silver Club".

Something short thats to remember and catchy.

    Thanks for your input!

    Why the age discrimination?

If someone who is 45 years old wants to learn what you teach in the seminar, or they want to become gym members, or they want some of the CU's services at a discount, why would you deny them participation? Just because they're younger than some arbitrary cut-off?

I find that offensive. Maybe your constituents will too. (I'd take my business elsewhere.)

So why don't you just offer the package to everyone? If you pick seminar topics that might be of particular interest to people nearing retirement, they'll self-select anyway ... and you won't have to exclude anyone because of the year in which they happened to be born.

I'm over 55 and the idea of being a senior isn't my cup of tea however your offering a select program of services or Dividends would appeal.

Perhaps offering this Dividend package for long term membership is the ticket to encouraging all to join.

The Dividend Advantage Program or is that redundant?

We have other programs for other age groups. Having different programs for different age groups is a way to offer products and services that are specialized for them.

Also, these programs create a target market, whereas if we opened the program up to everyone, what would be the point of offering the specials and discounts?

Anyone can attend the seminars that are going to be offered, the Senior Club members will just receive them for free, where other members will pay a small fee.
