Know-How Exchange : Taglines/Names

I’ve recently decided to start a blog. This is my first attempt at blogging so I’m very new to it. About a week old actually. I’ve always enjoyed journaling and I’m hoping to turn what had traditionally been a hobby for me, into something successful and ultimately profitable and want to start out on the right foot. The success of blogs is all about gaining readership, so I want to market my blog in the best possible way.

My blog is called The Freckled Life. I named it that because A) I have freckles and B) I see freckles as representative of a random collection of things (right in front of your face even) that makes a person unique. It’s a blog targeted towards average, ordinary people who are tired of their plain, boring lives and they want a spattering of adventure in it. I happen to be one of those people and hope to chronicle my journey in the blog. Maybe they have dreams of backpacking across Europe, losing 50lbs, or just learning to drive a stick. Whatever those goals are, the blog would support the pursuit of those dreams, big or small, and hopefully provide inspiration and helpful hints on how to achieve them.

What I’d ultimately like to do is make the blog interactive and get the readers involved in affecting the content, by providing suggestions of things they’ve always wanted to do. I want to start a program where readers can submit a suggested activity, and either myself, or other readers with similar interests, can then meet up and go do that activity and then blog about it. In a way, it is like a social networking type of idea, but for now, it would be started through my blog. It’s a way to make new friends, have continuous content for the blog, have new experiences personally, and motivate readers to continue to read and be inspired.

That being said I’m looking for 2 things: 1) a tagline for the blog (perhaps using some freckly type words like spots, dots, speckle, spattering, faces..etc) that gives more insight into what it’s about. Something like “Fulfilling dreams, one freckle at a time” or “Spotting the opportunities to live” or “Life spattered across your face” or something like that…only better :)

2) I want to come up with a name for this initiative to connect people based on their life goals. Call it a project, initiative, system, List…whatever. The BUDS project. The Freckle Initiative. I would love for it to be an acronym for something but I’m drawing a blank on something witty.

I could definitely use your suggestions and critiques. Like I said, I’m new to this, so if you have any advice, please pass it along.
