Why do you want to use your name? Do you think that's an important consideration when people select a real estate agent?

I'm assuming you want this slogan because you're hoping it will help you generate awareness and (ultimately) new business. If that's the case, then you're much better off communicating the unique and important benefit you provide. WHY should someone hire you instead of one of the other dozens of real estate agents in your area?

Your name might be very important to you, but I doubt that your prospective customers really care about it -- at least not as much as they care about buying/selling their homes.

I agree with mgoodman. Think more about what's important to your clients/prospects and less about being "clever" with a taqline repeating your name. What benefit do you provide above all others in your market area? Your best bet is to utilize the power of testimonials of happy customers.

AMA definition of brand: "name, term, sign, symbol, or design, or a combination of them, intended to identify the goods and services of one seller or group of sellers and to differentiate them from those of competition"

If you're using your name to differentiate you from the competition by being more reliable, dependable and less risky in a very risky market than go ahead and be clever.

That AMA definition of a brand is very dated and limiting. It would be like saying your personal brand is your name and likeness/picture, when you are so much more than that.

I'd say that Steve McNamara's definition of a brand is much closer to accurate in the current environment: "... the sum total of all feelings, thoughts and recognitions -- positive and negative -- that people in the target audience have about a company, a product or service."

A brand is the DNA of a product or company, it's essence, as perceived by the target audience. It's much more than the AMA's old definition.
