Tagline For Interior Design Networking Events

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I would like to get a catchy tagline for my interior design business. I attend networking events and need to give an elevator speech to potential prospects and would like a catchy tagline which I have not been able to come up with on my own. I might even need 2, one for people who are familiar with what I do and one for people who don't have any idea that people do what I do (which seems to be a lot).

Here is my website https://elemental-design.com

I provide interior (architectural) design for commercial spaces, much like what people would expect to be architecture. I'm not a decorator. I work with clients to make sure the space they are in supports how they function. Then by space planning (drawing up the walls on a blueprint) the space will benefit the employees and visitors with convenience. I have set up my website with the basics of the process. First I would keep the intent of a sustainable design (best use of money for the client), then programming (figuring out how much space they really need and what things need to be next to each other), then space planning (drawing the wall locations) and finally the interior design (this is what makes the place pretty with wall, floor and ceiling finishes and then furniture).

The business could be an office, restaurant, hotel, casino, etc. I have done a lot of work on government projects like courthouses, courtrooms, offices and even detention facilities. Their location would be a high rise office building, free standing building or even could be building a new building to suit then. This is also called tenant build-out work or facility planning for very large companies. The work could be just reconfiguring the furniture to complete construction of a building (if a new building typically work with an architect of record to do the shell which is exterior walls and roof and structural components of the building).

The benefit to the client using an interior designer's services as opposed to a contractor or architect is that an interior designer starts the design with how the people who live in the space use it and works out from their to make the space fit them. It should be both pretty and functional to be a successful project.

The target market would be a business owner with 10 or more employees (could be a very large business too), the leasing agent renting the office space, the realtor selling the space or the contractor. There are basically these 4 people involved in the process.

I have worked for other companies for 18 years and recently started my own company. This is what I put together for mission, vision and values. The vision statement is a work in progress and the goal.

I went to college for interior design and am a licensed interior designer and have practiced for 18 years.

    Interior Designer
    *Formal education and licensing required
*Art and science creating a functional space adhering to life safety & building codes
*Evaluate items on durability, acoustic properties, toxicity, allergens, cleanability, flame retardancey, off-gassing

    Decorator
*No formal training or license required
    *Furnishing and adorning a space
*Evaluate items on color, style, texture

A decorator is someone with a flair and picks pretty things to add to your space, no education required.

An interior designer is someone with a formal education, possibly licensed and deals with issues that affect the health, safety and welfare of the people who use the space. All portions of the work must meet applicable building codes and fire / life safety codes. If there is a fire, can they get out of the building; do the wall and door locations meet building and fire and life safety code; were materials for the walls, floors, furniture, etc selected so they meet flame spread requirements and don't create toxic fumes when there is a fire. A lot of this relates to the fact that an interior designer typically lays out the locations of the walls for commercial spaces. An interior designer can also select furniture and finishes to make the space pretty, but that is the very last part of the project.

What distinguishes me from the competition: honest communication about issues that arise so they can be resolved before they become a problem, attention to detail, personalize the space to be what the client wants and needs and to meet their goals, creative use of materials (great look for lower cost), i treat the clients money as if it were my own to help them get the best use of their money. I don't sell product, I sell my expertise so I can provide an unbiased analysis of what is best for the client.
