Name For A Fitness Studio For Women

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hey. I am opening a gym for women and need help with the name. We have come up with a few we like such as

Diva Fitness
Kiss Fitness
Diamonds to Dumbbells
Flirty Girl Fitness (or Glam Girl or Diamond Girl)

However, upon polling some ladies in our target market, they hated them all, and wouldn't visit gyms with those names.

We need a fun name that isn't too young, will draw in modern women from all age groups, and has marketing potential.

Also, we would like the name to suggest it is a studio for only women.

Thanks for your help!

    Hi!

Congratulations on working towards a new business!

Just out of curiosity, when you conducted your research about the names amongst your target market, did you also ask them if they were interested in attending a female only gym?

The reason I ask, is that you mention that the respondents indicated that "they wouldn't visit a gym with that name" which might stem from not wanting to visit an obviously all female gym.

    That aside, names could be:

    BarBelles

    Silhouettes

    and...forgive me in advance EstroGym!

    Kind regards,

    Ryan

    Hey Everyone.

I currently own a fitness boot camp and will be opeining the studio as expansion, I should have clarified.

The program currently is only women, so I already know that the women I asked were interested in female-only fitness.

I want something with more pop, you know?

I like BarBelles as suggessted by ryan..................so something along that line is nice.

My partner just suggested "Glisten Fitness", since women don't sweat, we glisten. (Or so we say, lol)

What age of women are you targeting?
    Demographic?
What's the competition like for other gyms in your area?
What would make your gym the clear choice for your ideal customer?

A name is one of the last steps you'd want to consider. First, you want to identify who you're targeting, how you're better than your competition, why they should trust your gym to be the right fit, etc. Without this preliminary work, all we can do is toss names out there, and hope for the best.

    @Karen

My dear, I apologized ahead of time for EstroGym, indicating that I was making a joke, and Fit Chicks was another attempt at being cheeky!

    My best,

    Hello Everyone,

Yes we have done all our research and business plan is complete, the name is our last thing. I don't see the point in posting all of that, it really isn't relevant. A name is a name. But there aren't any studios in the area that are women only, so that alone let's us stand out. Plus, we aren't a gym, but a fitness studio offering tons of classes and private training throughout the day, along with nutrition services. Again, this is unique to the area. Our target woman, which I believe I did mention in the original post, is women of all ages, but mostly 20-60, who are looking for modern, effective fitness classes that get them results without long term contract or pricey memberships.

My partner and I think Ryan's EstroGym name was hillarious, but we didn' go with that, haha. It did sound great though, and we weren't offended.

I ran the names by quite a few women and they loved Ryan's BarBelles, so we are seriously considering that.

    Thanks for your help!
