Bakery Name

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi everyone -

I am in the beginning stages of opening a bakery. I came up with the name "The Sugar Rush Bakery" but am having second thoughts. Does anyone have any ideas on cute/sassy but not cartoony names?

My name is Jaeme (which is just Jamie but spelled better). I tried Jcakes but that was taken as was Jae Cakes

Any help would be fantastic!

Thanks

It might depend on who your target audience is. "The Sugar Rush Bakery" might not be best, but the real issue is what you're trying to communicate.

"Cute/sassy" names are usually not as good as names that communicate a clear benefit or reward for customers. Of course, when you can do both, that's fine. But be careful with "cute/sassy" that people don't just remember (and even smile at) the name and have no clue why they might want to shop at your bakery.

My suggestion: Start with a clear understanding of why people should shop at your bakery. Put that into a positioning statement and a creative brief. Then let us develop a name that delivers on the specs in the creative brief and communicates your unique positioning benefit.

Naming is too important to just leave it to some quick snippets of "cute/sassy" ideas from a bunch of folks who have no idea who your target audience is or what makes you different from, and better than, your competitors.

My target audience is people who can't bake but don't want grocery store baked goods. We have several cupcake bakeries in town but nothing on the south end (of Denver) so there is definitely room for a bakery. I want to sell cupcakes, brownies, cookies to anyone who wants to buy them.

    A couple of other suggestions:

    Sweet Jaeme's Bakery
    Sugar Time Bakery
