Trying To Name My Itty-bitty Business

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Alrighty! I never thought I would be in the position of asking people what to name my growing business. I have been selling personalized guitar picks and handmade earrings. One of my regular customers suggested that I take my products to the next level and make a website. Before I can do so, I need to figure out what to name my business. A little bit about my products:
They are simple, unique pieces. No two are the same. Most people call me "Fishie" so I wanted to have that somewhere in the title. My work is definitely not what movie stars would wear, but it has a lot of popularity amongst my peers (I am in high school) as well as my older (in their 60's) friends.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thankies!

The key to finding a good name is understanding why your target audience would want to buy your products. And the more precisely you can define your target audience, the more relevant you can make your name.

See if you can be really specific about who is in your target audience. Not just where they live and how old they are, but what they're buying now (that you would replace), how they make their purchase decisions, and what benefits they're seeking.

Then, once you know who they are and what they want and need, you can come up with the unique benefit you're providing that's important to them.

Those are the foundation on which you should pick a name and set out a clear marketing strategy for your business.

We don't want to make the project more complicated or difficult than it needs to be, but if the objective is to make this a bigger business, we should try to do it right. When you're small, it's even more important to get the basics right, because you can't just throw a lot of money at it to offset the lack of good strategic planning.

We'll help you, but you need to give us more input about your target audience and what they need/want.
