Identify My Business......who Am I

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I changed my career 2 years ago and I am now in residential real estate in the Washington DC area. I am licensed in DC & MD however I am doing more business in DC perhaps because I am a city gal and focus more on "urban living" but I do not want to exclude single family homes. I do some rentals, and am getting a designation in "green" real estate.
I'm an offbeat person....unconventional redhead who is vibrant, and outgoing and have lots of experience in real estate indirectly. I managed 60,000 units of public housing; started a training program for indigent women and formerly incarcerated women to enter the construction field; was a facilities planner for a major urban city and personally renovated a number of homes on my own from top to bottom. I am looking for a tagline and perhaps a branding that would encompass who I am. Any help you could provide would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks so much!

So tell us about your primary target audience and how you deliver against their needs and expectations. I'm guessing they don't select a realtor based on how unconventional they are.

What important and unique benefit do you provide that might make them want YOU? Your brand needs to resonate with that target audience and tell them what's in it for them to work with you.

The more focused you can be, and the more specifically you can define your primary target audience, the better we'll be able to do in coming up with a tagline that will serve you well. It's not about encompassing who you are; it's about meeting the needs of your customers.

The more specialized your services, the easier it will be for people to find you Orysia. While you could sell condos, homes, estates, apartment buildings, LEED-certified buildings, etc. what do you want to be the "queen" at? Who specifically do you want to work with (age, demographic, etc.)? Why would someone want to work with you instead of the myriad of other Realtors in your area?

I made a mistake. I didn't want to close out the question but to answer the moderator's question. How do I get back into active status? Thanks.

I'm not really a moderator, but I'll alert the "real" moderator and see what she suggests. (The "moderator" designation is a result of some admin functions I needed to deliver a project for MarketingProfs.)
