Boutique Name

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Hi guys, Im Kiara Im a young college student looking to open a plus sized boutique targeting women ages 18-lets say 45. I want the boutique to be very upscale yet affordable for women on all budgets. I need help with naming my boutique I have been trying to think of a name that is catchy and ties into the theme of "plus size fashionable and fab!" But i have come up with absolutely nothing. I'm thinking about naming the boutique Delores Marie after my two grandmothers but i have mixed feelings about that name. Im hoping you guys can help me out... I would really appreciate if you could!

How about: "Delores + Marie"? (the "+" is a subtle indication of plus-sized). You'll no doubt need a tagline to clearly indicate what your business is / who it serves and also "Delores" might easily be misspelled, which can be a problem if people are looking for your website name.

I really appreciate all of you guys answers and PhilGrisolia4Results im targeting a market of more sophisticated young women like myself... those of us who like to look great without looking "slutty" for lack of better words but u may be right i may want to change my targeted market to something a little more feasible.... although my store is for plus size and very stylish women i do not want to add plus size into my name just because its plus doesnt mean it has to say so in the title think about lane bryant and ashley stewart... those store names have nothing to do with plus sizes. Its a boutique i want a more catchy name.

I'm thinking Delores is an "old" name and might not reach the segment you're after.

you are absolutely right to not put "plus" or "+" or anything similar in the store name. All of us women know that even if we love our bodies, popular society looks down on being bigger, and the last thing we would want to do is be seen shopping at a ~eek!~ PLUS sized store.

I think you're on the right track with the grandmother names, but I agree that "delores" could be easily misspelled...or mispronounced (if you remember the infamous Seinfeld episode).

    Good luck!

    How about Curve Appeal?

A play on 'curb appeal' - e.g. looking good on the outside, curves to show your market segment and a younger sounding name. Don't know where you're setting up shop - it may already be taken.

    How about Del Mar's?

It's a modern version of your grandmother's names.
