Looking For A Name And Tag Line For A New Project

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
We are launching a new product which will be selling customized mobile phone cases. The product will be sold online and offline.

It'll be a unique product, the way you want types (customized/bespoke), we want our customers to know, its not just a product but an experience. They upload an image or choose from the artwork which is there on our website.

We are looking for a brand name which is small yet very powerful (convey the message), and same goes with the tag-line/slogan.

For example, Threadless is a very interesting name and their tag line is very exciting, Nude No More..

The name and tag-line will be engraved on the cases, packaging etc.

Let's see if we can zero in on your target audience. Who are they? Where do they live? Why might they want your product? Is it to make a statement to others? Or is it more functional than that? Is this supposed to make them feel more special? Get them to love their phones more? What makes these folks tick?

If you try to appeal to everyone in the world with a cellphone, you risk being relevant to nobody. Better if you can find the ideal narrow segment who will be early adopters (for your product) and maximize your impact with them. Then, after you've honed the marketing plan, you can expand to other segments.

So instead of a one-size-fits-all name and tagline, let's understand the initial target really well and name the product for their benefit.

Have you researched the market? What have you learned about the likely early adopters? What motivates them? What's important to them?

I think the idea is brilliant and champions the concept of uniqueness and individuality - as a string believer in Personal Branding, I think one's brand should be reflected in all elements pertaining to his/her person - from the way they present themselves, the clothes they wear, and their choice of accessories ...
on that line of thought, I have thought a brand name that highlights the type of product/service being offered with a focus on being different and exceptional ...

    (DRUM ROLL)

    Brand Name:
Fonominal or Phonominal (playing the words Phenomenal and Phone)

    > there are multiple ways you can decide to phonically spell this ...

    Tag Line options:
    - My mobile, My style ...
    - Love it, brand it ... YOUR WAY

John: I like your idea; do you have an email or Skype where I can reach you? I'm not sure if this is against the terms of MarketingProfs, if that's the case, please delete this post.

    Hi Manuj,
if its just another mobile case except the fact u provide it customised try to highlight the safety & branding feature according to your target market. There may be diffrent answers for diffrent consumer groups like "MoBoM", "Cellex", "Mobio", "Mosafe", "Mobabe", etc the tagline could follow accordingly but for that you must decide who is going to buy your brand? (Age groups/ Gender group/ Ethinic group / Regional group, etc) & where & how you are going to place your brand.
