Name Our New Baby!

Posted by Anonymous on 100 Points
We are delighted to announce the birth of our latest offspring. He's cool, so cool in fact that he's a line of slush products. As the younger sibling of a recognizable name brand line we introduced a few years ago, this child is just as hip but not as high maintenance. In other words, an economical version available in 4 basic but stellar flavours!

So, what should we name him? The name has to appeal to the ladies as well as the guys. Kids will think he's "it" and parents, well, frankly, who cares.

So who exactly is your target audience? Where do they live? How are customers different from non-customers? What are the decision criteria they use for buying your product?

Are you hoping to convert customers of the old product to the new one, or is cannibalization the enemy?

We will need more information about your customers, their needs, and what you hope to accomplish. What's the business goal? What's the marketing strategy? How will your customers learn about the new product(s)?

It's hard to name an item that we don't know what kind of item it is. Is it technology, a cleaning product or a candy bar? You can understand that each would succeed being named for what they are.

Our Company is in the Concession Food Industry. We sell equipment and supplies such as popcorn, nachos, cotton candy, SnoKones and Slush products. We carry a name brand slush product that sells extremely well. We charge a premium price for the branded product compared to our competitors products.

We also have a number of customers who cannot charge a premium for slush in their markets. In response, we are launching a line of lower cost slush products.

Slush syrup is mixed with water and chilled in a frozen beverage machine. Two key elements of a great product are bold taste and colour. We will launch 4 top flavours Blue Raspberry, Cherry, Orange and Lemon/Lime.

Profitability in slush is upward of 80% to an operator. Key markets include theme parks, zoos, snack bars, cafeterias, quick service restaurants, convenience stores, ice cream shops, sports arenas, theatres, bowling alleys, ski hills etc.- anywhere that families and kids go for refreshment and fun.

Our busines goal is to gain a significant market share of the lower cost slush market by positioning our product as the gold standard. Thus, we need a name for the line that will appeal primarily to kids and teens. It is bold, great tasting and vibrantly coloured.
