Oops. You've used some technical terms that need to be explained for us marketing folks.

First, "a little more eye-catching." What does that mean? How do you judge or measure "eye-catching?" And how much more? It's not clear what you're noticing with the suggestions Jay provided that isn't eye-catching enough.

Second, "make people want to walk into the store." People walk into a store because they think they'll be able to find something they want. What is it they will want that might get them to walk into your store? If it's candy or fish, then your name says it. If it's something else, you will have to tell us what that might be so we can reference it in the tagline.

I suspect there's more than a semantic misunderstanding here. Perhaps you can tell us about who your prime target audience is (i.e., where they live, how old they are, whether they are locals or tourists, gift-givers or chocoholics, etc., etc.), and what benefit you are trying to communicate in the tagline.

Why should they walk into your store? What's in it for them?

OK. So now the geography is narrowed to a city in Orange County. Next the individuals and situation.

Can you focus your age range a bit more? Mostly kids, mostly moms-for-kids, mostly adult gift-givers, etc.? The more specific we can be in terms of the target audience, the more effective your tagline will be.

And finally, who is your competition? Where is your target audience buying candy today? Why should they switch to you? What's in it for them to buy from you instead of from a competitor? What unique benefit do you offer and deliver that will compel them to buy from you?

P.S. Does "quarium" mean "filled with?" If so, I'll bet 95% of the people who see "-quarium" think of fish -- the things that are found in an "aquarium."

You might want to re-think the name if you want to communicate your all-things-candy positioning and not confuse people with the fish/water connection.

For another name, why not simply: YourName's Sweet Shoppe? It's a name that can appeal to adults (reminiscing about days of "old") and kids....

-quarium gives the image of large size.
-shoppe would be smaller more personal.

I like -quarium but there is nothing in that to lead me to believe you offer toys and noveties. I think I would be able to find some older candy names.

I don't know the Orange County area very well. Would "Your dentists best friend" sell? How about "some kids are older than others"?

    Michael
