Tagline For Shabby Signs Made From Old Picket Fence Boards

Posted by shmily97 on 250 Points
I need help with creating a tagline for my business. I'm using recycled fence boards panels for shabby, country, and primitive, signs, such as "Beach" "Laundry" "Gone Sailing" "Garden" etc..

I'd avoid the word "shabby", as that has negative connotations.

    Phil's suggestion is good

    Or how about:

Do you have a name for the company? If so, what is it?

Who is your target audience? Where do they live? Where/how are they going to buy the signs? Do you have a physical location, or is this strictly an online business? Are the signs custom-made, or are you just making signs you think the target audience might like?

How are you planning to create awareness of your business? How will the target audience learn of your existence? Where will they see/hear the name and tagline?

Thank you all for all of the wonderful suggestions!! I jumped on real quick and posted that question, then had to run out. I realized later that I wasn't very clear. I actually will be making signs as well as other crafts with the recycled fence boards and posts. The name I like but haven't registered yet is "Once Upon A Picket" the idea I have now is to follow that with..Recycled Fence Crafts..Turning the KNOTTY to NICE!

I plan to sell online as well as shows. I need to have cards made up. I plan to do special orders as well as premade. They are shabby, cottage, beachy type styles.
    Thanks again!!

    I really like your approach:

    Once Upon A Picket
Recycled Fence Crafts ... Turning KNOTTY to NICE!

That's a great example of a descriptive and meaningful name with a relevant and memorable benefit-oriented tagline.

Very nice. (Please join us here on the Know-How Exchange in the future to help others who are struggling with taglines ... because they want "catchy" or "cute" instead of relevant and benefit-oriented.)

To Mgoodman.. Thank you very much! I decided to go with my gut and use what I came up with. I really felt it had a nice ring to it! Maybe I will come back and try and see if I can be of any help. ;)
