Tagline For Dermatology Practice

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am developing a website and ad campaign for a dermatologist and need your expertise for a tagline.

He is a solo practitioner in a metropolitan area. His audience is broad: pediatrics (parents) to the elderly. The older population will see this tagline in Yellow Pages and similar while the younger population will be researching their physician choices online.

He has been practicing in a metropolitan area for 30 years. Most of his competitors are only 10+ year veterans. So he has the trust factor.

He specializes in both medical and cosmetic dermatology but is NO PRESSURE on the cosmetic end. He is very up-to-date but I wouldn't call him "cutting-edge". He is just very calm, reassuring, and thorough. His staff is wonderful.

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated! I want to avoid anything TRITE like "Treating 4 generations since 1981"

THANKS!

What is the name of the practice? Is it just the dermatologist's name, or does it say "dermatology?"

Where is the practice located? It might be a good idea to include some reference to the location in the tagline, so it's clear he's part of the community/familiar -- unless that's in the name.

Who is the competition, and how do they position and market themselves? Sometime the best approach is to effectively "re-position" the competition ... gently, of course. ("An experienced dermatologist who has earned the trust of the community ...")

It seems you feel what sets your client apart is his experience. Not sure why you wouldn't want to focus on that in your tagline.

"Trust is more than skin deep"

Great ideas and points so far - thank you!

@mgoodman: The name of the practice is "Smith" Dermatology, but he is better known by his name rather than his practice name. In this particular instance, I don't think a location would be beneficial since it is a metro area. Like New York Dermatologist doesn't really narrow it down much. I like where you are going with ""An experienced dermatologist who has earned the trust of the community ..." - it's just wordy at this point.

@PhilGrisolia4Results - good point on "4 generations" - that would make him in practice for 120 years! Oops! Pretty much every practice in town uses "Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology" - trying to distinguish him.

@michael - I LOVE the concept of "Trust is more than skin deep" and might have to play with that one. The only thing that is tricky is I also market another practice in a nearby town (not direct competitors) and I have "trust" in their tagline.

THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT SO FAR!
