You may use your last name followed by "roof cleaning" or name + pressure washer to make people aware of EXACTLY what you do. You'll still probably get calls from people looking for roofers, but at least your name won't be the reason.

Why would someone want to have their roof cleaned?
    Where are you located?
Are you looking to target commercial or residential customers?

I would like to put light on two major prospects of your question.

1st PART : LOGO / COMPANY NAME / BRAND NAME.

    a) first you can decide that whats your objective behind the name of company like many people give their family name (surname) to create goodwill or use their existing goodwill in market (TATA / BIRLA) ETC.

    b) Name as per the company profile / Working ( ITC / financial solutions) etc..

    OR
    c) Use name which can gather quick attention / create space in the mind of target customer. (XEROX / DALDA / MAGGIE)

    PART 2: PROMOTION STRATEGY

If you observe companies like AIRTEL, IDEA actually you cant get any idea that in which sector this companies deal in ,but due to heavy promotion people may come to know about this companies and their work. they continuously hammer their target market about their work and brand. so promotion strategy is very important while deciding or finalizing name of company / brand.

    My suggestion is :
Go as per the working / sector of company it will help your customer to recognize your company.. as your company is in introductory stage.
later on you can create new logo or tag line as per requirement. Related to your specialty or customer satisfaction.

    thanking you...

I'm assuming you're trying to distinguish between someone who repairs roofs and someone who cleans them. As Jay mentioned, there's a bit of an education process that will need to take place.

With what seems to be a very targeted business, as long as you have "roof washing" in the name, you can name it after your dog or favorite color or AAA or Acme or the name of your county.

Your brand lies in the value of the service you offer and
in the promises you make, keep, and over deliver on.

Your brands does NOT lie in the name you choose.

Where will you serve customers? If it's within a 100 mile radius of where you live, and if you have evidence that people within your town or area are searching for or need roof cleaning, a name that doesn't make you sound like a roofing company won't help you.

Here, it's VITAL that you wrap your mind around the simplicity of what YOU want as being irrelevant.

Here's a ten-word, six figure per year business plan.

Figure out what people want, then offer it to them.

    NAME: Smith's Roof Cleaning
TAGLINE: The Best There Is, Guaranteed Or 1.5 Times Your Money Back

What creates a brand? Positioning, conditioning, frequency of message, and connection to an established emotional trigger. Not a name.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I give up. Why do people want their roof washed? What's the benefit?
