Naming A Dental Practice

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I want an easy to say, not cheesy name that will describe my dental practice. Words patients have used to describe me or their experience at my office include: fun, comfortable, competent, pain free, Successful, positive experience, high quality, excellent, personable, Calm, gentle mastery, Friendly and helpful. Found these in reviews from my patients...I'm not arrogant. Ok and go!

    Dr. Bangs'

    Gentle, Pain-Free Dentistry

    or

    Gentle Comfortable Dentistry

    or

    Comfortable, Family, Dentistry

    or

    Friendly Family Dentistry

    I hope this helps,

The only word on your list that isn't used by most dentists is "fun." And it's hard to use that word to describe a dental practice and still keep a straight face.

What you might want to do to distinguish your practice from most others (in the name) is use your FIRST name as well ... because most dentists are not female. You could be whimsical -- Dr. Stephanie the Tooth Fairy -- or more serious -- Dr. Stephanie Bangs, TLC, DDS.

Let people continue to post nice things about your skill and patient manner -- even quote some on your website. But the name won't sound very distinctive if you use words like "pain free" or "personable" -- and you risk having people think you're patting yourself on the back (or worse, ignoring/forgetting the name altogether).

Michael's given you some good advice. Another direction to take the naming is dealing with the negative connotations of visiting the dentist, such as: "No Fear Dentistry" or "Relax! Dentistry".

Sorry guys I appreciate your responses but I didn't find any of them particularly helpful for me. Not that they weren't great ideas...it's just I had already had those same ideas and I'm just looking to hear the right name.

How will you know when the right name shows up, Stephanie? Do you have a creative brief? What criteria are you using to determine if you have a winner? If we know that there's a much better chance we can deliver what you want.
