Brand Name For Pumpkin

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I need a catchy brand name for a butternut pumpkin. We would like to present it to the retail supermarkets with a name and identity readily created so that they don't turn it into a private label in-house.

It is just like your normal butternut, bright orange inside, versatile, bell shaped... however the outer skin has a lovely green almost "animal/ zebra/tiger print" pattern.

Any ideas would be great as we are divided in the office on names.

Thanks,

A catchy brand name isn't going to be enough to convince a retail supermarket chain to take the product. You need a total marketing support program, including the brand positioning and a promotion plan. Otherwise you're just a commodity -- with or without a brand name.

If you have the support plan in place, we should know how you're positioning the brand. It will help us come up with the perfect name. If you don't, then it's a waste of time to try to come up with a name.

    Hi All,

Thank you for some of your feedback and comments. iw ill add them to the list of a few we have already come up with.

Mgoodman thanks for the comments. Yes I completely agree that unless we have a complete marketing package a name alone will not suffice. We have actually already presented a proposal to the supermarket chains on how we see each type of pumpkin can be positioned (whole vs cut, gourmet vs value add commodity) and promotional strategies behind each. This new product would be positioned as premium. Better flavour and eating quality. individual smaller size so no need to cut. Plus the obvious which is its differentiation in aesthetics.
