Social Media Seminar Tagline/name

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My business partner and I are putting on a Social Media Seminar for small businesses in September and we need a catchy title/tagline to get a good turnout!

The seminar will be focused on why/how small business owners can utilize social media to market their brand and create relationships with existing and potential consumers. We will also highlight tips and tricks for updating these outlets on a consistent basis. Facebook will be the main outlet discussed as well.

Thanks for your help!

A catchy title/tagline won't do it. You have to promise and deliver a meaningful benefit for your target audience. Your description all sounds like process steps, not a clear and important benefit.

My suggestion: Forget catchy. Go for the benefit or an end-benefit, if possible. If you guarantee a business increase of 10%, you might get some attention ... especially if the guarantee has teeth in it. (Example: "If you implement what we recommend at the seminar and your business doesn't increase at least 10% as a result, we'll write you a check for $5,000 ourselves.")

If a guaranteed benefit scares you, maybe you need to ask yourself whether YOU would attend the seminar if you were in your own target audience.

Are you attendees likely to already know about social media and you're hoping to do business with you OR are you planning to do "What is Social Media And Why Your Business Should Care"?

Are you targeting people who you already have a relationship with?

Are you targeting people in a specific region?

And why should people trust YOUR information?
