Help Us Finish Our Name

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My business partner and I have put on events for years and have finally decided to make it official and form a company. Trouble is - we offer so much more than events. We provide marketing and PR services, we can provide rebranding through logo creation and website redesign.

We have come up with our name "MoJo". We chose our name for two reasons - 1. Because an event or a business concept is all about the energy, vibe or feeling it gives you. The MoJo. And 2. Because my name is Monica and his is Jonathan -so it is the first two letters of each of our names. Where we are struggling is - we don't want to say Mojo Events because we offer so much more than events. We don't really like "productions" either.

We also would like a quick a clever tagline. One idea we had was "MoJo....get some." But it is just not our favorite. This is the last thing we need before we create all our marketing materials. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Off the top of my head:

    MoJo - How''s Yours?

    MoJo - Feel It

    MoJo - I''ve got mine

MoJo - Let us create yours

Instead of Productions or events, would Marketing or PR be a better lable of what you do? Perhaps MoJo Branding? MoJo Promotions? Could you go into more detail on the services you provide? That will help in coming up with a good word to tie it all in.

You need to focus on your core business and not try to be so many different things. That's at the heart of your problem.

Once you narrow your focus you'll be able to deal with the name issue.

As for Mojo, maybe it belongs in the tagline, not the name. Use the name to communicate what you DO, and where/for whom. Then let the tagline speak to the benefit.

    Example:

    PACIFIC COAST MARKETING
Bring new mojo to your big event

    (Substitute your location, of course.)

Michael's right - you're trying to offer too much under one umbrella. For example, if I'm looking for a party planner, it's unlikely I'd talk to a web designer.

A couple of suggestions to play with:
    MoJo Presents
    MoJo Rising

A great option here is to name your high level business Mojo (short punchy and has all the connotations above), and have sub-brands for Mojo Events, Mojo Marketing, etc…
