Fundraising Company Startup

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am starting a fund raising company selling merchant discount cards. The business will require two systems of approach. First is selling the coupons to the merchants, then selling the coupon booklets to the groups who are interested in doing a fundraiser. One unique feature I will be using is a concept of partnering with two local charities. Through the sales of the cards by the groups, not only will they raise money for themselves, but $1 will go to the charity of their choice in their name. In addition, my company will match their donation dollar for dollar. This is intended to be a community driven business, that will provide a win-win-win-win situation for various youth groups, local merchants, local charities, and a little for myself. Any ideas of an effective business name and tag line?

I don't get the business concept. Who pays what and who gets what?

When you "sell a coupon to the merchants," what do they pay? When you sell coupon booklets to fund-raising groups, what do they pay? How do they make money? How do the merchants make money? How do you make money?

    I don't get it.

And I don't understand who the name and tagline have to motivate. Who is the primary target audience? What is the benefit for that target audience?

To mgoodman: The cost to the merchant is nothing. The coupon is a "drawing card" to attract more business, and one more advertising avenue @ no cost. The coupon booklets are given to the group to sell for $10 each. Of that ten dollars, they keep $4, I get $4, and the charity gets $2. The cards are tracked and then inventoried and reconciled with cash at the end of the 2 week sales cycle. The name and tagline are intended to motivate both the selling group, and the buying public. What would make the public choose this booklet over any others that are out there? Hopefully, the opportunity to support both the selling group AND a charity, ie local Special Olympics, Homeless Shelter, etc.
