Tagline For Baby Headbands Shop...

Posted by jokekima on 250 Points
Hi there, I just started a shop making baby, toddler, girls headbands. I am looking for a tagline for a postcard flyer that I would be leaving in local shops for people to take.

My shop name is (company name removed). Its named after my 2 year old triplets.

Some words I think of with my designs are: Shabby Chic, Vintage inspired, Luxurious, Fun, Unique, Cute, Custom and handmade.

Thanks!

I don't get it. What do your 2-year-old triplets have to do with baby headbands? Is this some kind of inside joke, or do you really want to launch a business?

I think "Company name removed" is too "cuite" and doesn't give anyone in your target audience a clue to what you do or why they should pay attention. Most will probably even miss the meaning of the misspelled words. (On first time through, I pronounced the word "Koo-it-tay" thinking it might be French.)

Why not start with a name that will help communicate something meaningful. If you do a great job with that, you might not even need a tagline. I think a tagline after that long and obtuse name will make the whole thing too unwieldy. Your target audience will just give up.

Wow that was kind of rude! I am asking for help not to be blasted. Clearly I made a spelling mistake. My triplets are my inspiration for designing the headbands since 2 of them are girls. I wasn't asking for your advice on a company name. Plus don't you think that it being a flyer I would include pictures of my products on it? I didn't think I would need to write all of that on this post. Also my flyers are being distributed in places where my target audience will be.

Again I am looking for a Tag line for baby headbands I design and the style of them are the descriptive words I have included in my first post. My company name is (company name removed). Bowtique is purposely spelled that way because many of the headbands have bows on them. My business logo also has a image of my daughters wearing the headbands. I hope I have now provided enough information for people to understand what kind of a tag line I am looking for.

    Thanks again!

I certainly did not intend to be rude. I'm sorry you found it that way. I was trying to help you make your business a success.

You can name your business anything you want, of course. I'm simply holding up a mirror and suggesting that simpler is better. For example, you could drop the 3 and "Bowtique", and just call it "Cutie Pie."

I understand you feel committed to the name, however, and my suggestion based on that is to skip the tagline. There would be too much going on in the name/tagline. It will decrease the effectiveness of your total communication.

Just put the name and pictures of the product in your flyer. If those can't sell what you have, the tagline isn't going to make a difference. And shorter/simpler will be best. People don't buy the name or the tagline. They buy the benefit they think they'll get when they buy the product. If your name suggested a benefit, that could help. But a cutesy name PLUS a tagline may be less effective than the cutesy name alone.

I'm trying to be helpful, but if you don't want to take the input I obviously won't feel rejected. Maybe others here will see this differently and suggest specific taglines to go with your name.

And I truly thought the name was supposed to be Cuite ... a second bit of "cutesy" in the name (along with Bowtique).
