I Need Help Coming Up With A Dj Company Name.

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi,
I have been djing for years and want to start up my own dj company that caters to high end weddings, corporate events, fashion shows, birthdays, etc. I want to stay away from cheesy lines. I want it to sound elegant, trendy, sophisticated, and fun. I appreciate all your input!

Who is your primary target audience? Where are they located? What makes you different from, and better than, all the dozens (or hundreds) of other DJs in your area? Why should someone hire YOU?

If you don't have immediate answers, you might consider interviewing a 12-15 former clients and ask them what they like about your work, what words they would use to describe your services, and how they decided to hire you. While you're at it, ask them if there's anything they'd wish you could change about the service you provide. Don't try to sell them anything or debate the issues. Just ask your questions, listen carefully to their responses, and take detailed notes.

Once you've completed all the interviews, step back and review your notes. I'd bet money you'll have some great ideas for a name for your new company. (That's precisely what I would do if you retained me as a consultant to come up with a positioning, name and tagline for your company.)
