Some Ideas For A Good Business Name

Posted by allthingsnatural on 250 Points
I have a diversified online home business. I am a home-based travel agent with Prestige Travel, sell freelance photography online, and also sell organic healthy products as added bonus, so I want to come up with a good business name to define what all I do. I have been thinking of some names, one that keeps coming to mind is "Vacation, Rejuvenate & Stay Well" as that seems to take in everything. I tend to specialize in travel too towards photography or spa getaways. Does anyone have any ideas? Is that name too long or too much? Thank you

I am not personally a fan of overly descriptive business names. Today you are involved with three major activities... and no one knows what you will be involved with five years from now. And so my question would be, what is the common denominator in your activities? Why do you do things you do? . What makes you (as a person) different then other people and organizations? . If you were to consider a new venture, what guiding principles would guide your decision?

I'd strongly suggest keeping your 3 businesses separate in the eyes of your prospective customers. Why? Let's say you have a website for your business - what does it say on the home page? Let's say I find your website, and am looking for a travel agent. I see that you also sell photography and organic products. I'm likely to think you're probably not a good travel agent - since you're dabbling in unrelated fields. Why not keep each of your businesses separate in the eyes of your prospective customers to avoid confusing them about your expertise?

Naming your business after yourself is relatively easy to do. Some say it adds credibility to your business. It could be your full name, first name or surname. Using all or some of your initials is also fairly common. The business may be a partnership of two or more people, which provides more possibilities.Naming your business after yourself is relatively easy to do. Some say it adds credibility to your business.
