Name/tagline For Eco-friendly Pet Sitting Business

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi everyone,

I'm looking to start a new pet-sitting business. My focus is to promote myself as an eco-friendly alternative to the other pet sitters in my area (North Vancouver, British Columbia) and would like that to be reflected in my business name. I also cater to all animal types and to houses without pets as well.

My goal is to grow my business to the point where I could offer more services such as daycare, a boarding facility etc. and to have multiple employees as well. Because of this, I would prefer not to pigeonhole myself by being too specific in my name.

Any suggestions would be helpful! Thank you!

Regarding "eco-friendly alternative" - what specifically does this mean to you and does this truly matter to your clients? What type of pets do you want to focus on?

Dogs are my main focus (I am also a certified professional dog trainer) but I have a fondness for all pets and have experience with avians and reptiles as well as the more traditional pets.

As far as the "eco-friendly" part, I was raised to always be conscious of the impact we have on the planet and to strive to make our world a better place to live in. This subject is very hot in my city right now and everyone is encouraged to look for green alternatives in all aspects of their lives where possible. I believe it also helps for a business to have a cause outside of the business itself and presents a quality that many people would like to see when hiring someone for such a personal service.

My only concern is that your emphasis on eco-friendly would limit your target. It's not that it is not important but to what percentage? You'll need something that is important to all owners.....and not just "friendly & professional"

I would think your certification would be your USP.
