The New "senior"

Posted by Sally on 250 Points
Seeking a new name to use when approaching the over 60 market. Senior, golden, etc no longer describe this group...most young 60s are not interested in being associated with that grouping.

It will be used to attract this group to a new, recently developed restaurant offering.

A prior employer used "Club 50" to designate an age related break...somehow Club 60 doesn't seem as attractive.

I know that this is a very creative group of experts...any suggestions?

Hmmmmm ... over 60 is also over 50, why the need to change from Club 50, after all 60 is the new 50.

I would just be direct and refer to them as 60+.

Most of the people over 60 are part of the Baby Boomer generation, play that up. a term that is sometimes used in Canada is "Zoomer" (but that usually refers to anyone 45+).

Technically the "Generation Jones" group starts with people who are 58 this year - but you could work that in somehow as well.

Thanks everyone for you input. It always helps to get some outside thoughts.

I will be working with my client later this week and will present the suggestions.
