Please Help. Name And Branding For Candy Store

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hello all,

I am going to be starting up a pick and mix candy stall in a local shopping centre in Darwin, Australia. My two main target markets will be young parents, and teens.

I have a few ideas for names, but I am concerned about how parents will feel about the negative connotations with names like Sugar Rush or Sweet Tooth, but I also want to appeal the the teenage market.

Just so you all know Darwin is a small city, with a very large young working class population. The climate is very hot and wet, and people usually refer to Candy as Lollies or Sweets.

The Stand will be approximately 10ft x 8ft, and I am thinking of having it stickered up with close up photos of people eating candy.

Other names i have considered are:
The Sweet Spot
Icandy
Sweet as

Please help if you have any ideas or comments on names, taglines, or branding.

Many Thanks

Ed

    Just run a check that following brand names are already taken or not (if some company comes up with these name and you haven''t registered it then it can be a problem).

    1. Kewl Pillz (as you mentioned it''s a hot place where people refer candies as lollies)
    2. North Piece/Peace/Pick (as Darwin on the northern side of Australia)
    3. Max-Mix Candy (to associate with pick and mix candies)
    4. Quick Pick Candy

    - If you call candy, lollies in Australia then why not incorporate that into your name.

    - Maybe consider a descriptive word that is associated with lollies that you can merge into it.

    - 1 word business names always seem to have more impact & success then 2 or 3 words. It seems to be the fashion at the moment.

    - Maybe not focus on the fact that candy is so unhealthy and move the focus towards the concept of pick and mix and it being fun.

    - Choose a theme, i.e. theme park, cotton candy clouds, the chemistry behind making candy, something scientific like DNA strands that look like roller-coasters, body parts covered with candy or sherbet or colored sugar, raindow? Be creative.

    - the name and the concept should be interrelated.

    * funky-face (you could then keep the branding as people eating your candy)

    * sweet-face (maybe focus on what movements or actions the face makes when you eat candy)

    * Delicious fun

    * lolly-licious

    * candy-licious

    * yumolicious

    * sweet cheeks

    * sugared

    * sugared-up

    * candy case

    * The English Way (traditional approach?)

    * sweet bliss
