Not Quite A "grand Opening"

Posted by flwrsbyj on 25 Points
Special Event Florist and Rental Company and we have opened another location. We have been in this new location for 2 1/2 years but never had an official "Grand Opening". We are ready and would like to do "something" to to invite folk over for a 3 day event. We think it's too late to call it "Grand Opening" What should we call it?

Blossom or bloom are other words for "opening" ... and tie in nicely with the fact that you are a florist. perhaps something along those lines! I'd go for just a special day ... celebration ... or get to know us open house ... type concept.

I know that's not specific; just some thoughts! GOOD LUCK!

Like Zelda says, the floral concept gives a nice opportunity to sponsor a three day "Reaching for our third year" Thank You Celebration with a theme to thank the community for supporting your business. An Open House featuring a host of rental pieces (with homemade signs listing potential residental and commercial uses) is a possibility. Of course floral arrangements can brighten the decor (and also have signs featuring names of flowers w/in the arrangment and purchase price).

Also, consider checking with the Assoc. of Specialty Cut Flower Growers to see what cut flower has been designated for the "2012 Cut Flower of the Year" is. Depending on cost, consider offering first ## of Open House attendees a free stem or boutionneire of that (or other flower) as a memento.

    Best of luck!
