New Business Name

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My name is Valorie and I think I need to change the name of my handcrafted jewelry business. I use natural gemstones, freshwater pearls, sterling silver, white metal, copper, brass and gold-filled beads to make jewelry. I have just considered including a line of pieces made of beads and pendants imported from Nepal and Tibet, working as a sales rep for someone's company. I want to blend my name to compliment her's. She is Eksha Creations/Napalese Beads. My current business name is SilverLady Designs, but I'm afraid that it's too limited since I no longer use sterling silver only. I have also considered Unique Chic Accessories. My flair seem to be very ethinically oriented. I really try to make one-of-a-kind creations. Please help! What should my business name be?

Who is your primary target audience? Where do they live? Does Eksha mean anything to them?

What are you trying to communicate with the name?

Considering that you have some equity in SilverLady Designs, I wouldn't run away from it so fast. Everything doesn't have to be silver, just because the name is SilverLady. I might keep that name and add a tagline that communicates "Unique Accessories from Around the World."

My primary target audience is anyone that loves handmade jewelry. Mostly women of moderate to upper level income who want something totally different than anyone else has to wear. They want to make a statement with their jewelry choices. They also may want to make a sound investment in the type of jewelry they choose. I don't really have much equity invested in the name SilverLady Designs. In fact it is less than 1 year old. I have the business name connected with my facebook id Valorie Tate. I haven't sold anything under this name. I started with the name Visions by Valorie and never did anything with that either.

Eksha Creations or Napalese Beads may mean something as she has a store on Ebay. I will be an independent sales rep for her, but also want to maintain my own identity for my other work. I will be calling on bead shops with her items first and possibly later my own creations.

I like your suggested tagline a lot.

Thanks for your input. Keep the suggestions coming.

Do you have any particular names and tagline websites you can give to me. I have tried Google search but maybe I''m not using the right search words. That is how I found this site.

    Thank you.

    www.Taglines-R-Us.com
    www.TaglineFactory.com

Both charge for naming and tagline development, but they're well worth it if you're serious about the business.

Or you can post a project in the Hire An Expert section of this website. There's a link in the right-hand column of this web page.

"Handmade Jewelry Princess" or "Handmade Jewelry Goddess" sounds nice. It includes your main keyword which is very wide as a term with high search demand.

That would take a little more time to rank well on Google natural results but it would be worth the effort.

Then you could promote every kind of jewelry on separate pages that target your specific keywords and attract visitors that are interested in all kinds of materials besides Silver.

    Hope this helps :)
