Catchy Name For A Polynesian Fitness Class

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am interested in hearing from people with ideas for great names for our new fitness class that blends Tahitian Dance and Hawaiian Hula Dance in a fitness way. This is a fast paced class that burns a lot of calories while learning sexy moves that are also cultural. We will also infuse a circuit training all while doing the dance moves that tone your thighs, abs, hips and glutes. With our 20 years of Polynesian Dance experience we also share info about the culture as we are working out.

    Where are you located?
What age/demographic/fitness level of women are you targeting?
Are you trying to be a fitness place that uses dance as a tool, or a dance studio that has as a bonus a workout?
How traditional will your dances be (or will you be taking a move here and there from various traditional dances)?

    Hi,

It does help when you provide more info and best to reply to Jay's questions.

Just to take a shot at a name and tagline, how about:

    Pilatynesian Shape Up
    Polynesian Circuit Dance Fitness

(of course, many variations on this theme)

Hope it helps stimulate your thinking.

Thanks for your responses Jay and Steve. To answer your questions Jay...
-We are located in Los Angeles
-We are targeting women ages 25-40, multicultural, all levels will be able to do it, however we will gear it to people that are more than beginners at fitness. We will add modifications to our movement workouts.
-We are a fitness company that travels to different places offering this style. We will do classes in the community, at schools, private parties, and fundraiser events.
-Extremely traditional. We just keep it moving unlike a dance class that stops after every song, or focuses soley on the movements. The class will be continuous like a workout class with the cultural movements.

Hope this helps stimulate some awesome ideas!

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Perhaps I wasn't clear. We are not a fitness center/studio. We are going to offer this class to different locations. For example - different studios, different gyms, at parties, corporate offices who pay for exercise classes for their employees, etc. So we wanted to come up with a catchy name that had an island feel but also let's them know it is a workout.
