Help With Changing My Biz Name

Posted by sacredcoyote on 25 Points
I have a business name that I LOVE already (Sacred Coyote Designs), but I think it brings "craft" connotations to mind and not nice Jewelry designs. I want to keep it in some form but I want it to be grabby & marketable. I also want to make it so that if I move to a brick & mortor store it would still work and I plan to eventually move to high end jewelry as well.

Please help!!!

thanks! :0)

    Why not "Sacred Coyote Jewelry"?

I agree that "Sacred Coyote" sounds more crafty than "high end" so I'd go with SCD Jewelry. You could do something cool with the initials in your logo and keep a coyote eye or something. Otherwise, I'd abandon the "sacred" and "coyote" for something that just sounds like those words like Spring Cayala Designs

Sacred Coyote speaks of a deep connection to Native American Indians. If your goal is to keep that connection, maybe you can broaden your name to touch on general connotations. For instance:

    Tribe Designs
    Tribal Designs
    EarthStone Designs
    The Sacred Jewel
    Ancient Jewels

If you've spent time building a reputation and/or customer base with Sacred Coyote, it could represent one collection (and price point) of your "Tribe Designs," for instance. It then becomes the 'Sacred Coyote Collection' by Tribe Designs.

You could then add another collection for your high end pieces using a different collection name. Doing it this way opens the door for your creativity to flow unrestricted by a name in the future.

Just as 'Toyota' is the Corp. name--Yaris and Prius represent separate price points and products.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I like the idea of "collection names" rather than just a company name.
The name was derived from my heritage so it does hold special meaning and for a while I was created native inspired beaded jewelry. :0) How perceptive you all are!!!

    Thank you Again!!

"Sacred Coyote Designs" is so intriguing! It speaks so much of the earthiness of your designs, like if I hear of it then automatically what comes in my mind is that you have tribal-esque and earthy jewelry pieces.

If you do branch out to high-end pieces will you still retain the ancestral and grounded look of your pieces? Because of you will, I think the name "EarthStone Designs" that Laura suggested would be a good name. Just my two cents though.

P.S. I think your jewelries are awesome! :D
