Choosing The Right Business Name

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi, I am based in Australia.
I am about to start a new service business which assists people to buy a car (new or used). For people who are time poor, not comfortable haggling with car salesman, don't know where to start or what to ask, not confident crunching sellers on price, worried they will be sold a lemon etc etc.
After a customer tells me what car they want and how much they have to spend, I kick into action. I Do the research, price comparisons, carrying out mechanical checks, get the right car at the best price, complete the transfer etc etc. I can also offer insurance and loan products.
The issue is I have a business name dilema. Do I Use something that exactly describes what I do (ie. helpfindmycar.com.au) which can probably be very easily found in google searches or go with something a bit more catchy like “The Car Hunter” or “Car Hunters” and rely on a good website & SEO to get customer attention.
What name do I choose?
*Help Find My Car
*The Car Hunter
*Car Hunters
*Or Something else??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Since website URLs are inexpensive, you can have multiple names all pointing to your same website. As for a name, you could also make your location as part of the name "Aussie Car Hunter".

    My suggestions are

    1. Auto Assistant (autoassistant.com.au) you can not only assist them for finding cars you can also give them services like after sales, car wash, engine overhauling or services (oil change, filter change) etc.. this will give your company a new boost and customers will automatically get attracted with your services.. C2C business (customer to customer)

    2. Your Car Shop (ycs.com.au)
    3. Car Dukaan (Dukaan is native urdu or hindi word for shop.. new concept)

I agree with HyroNext.com's suggestion. YourCarFinder.com is a good name for a business such as you described.

In my opinion, business names should be a mix of function and fashion, as one term goes. It must serve as a representation of what your business is all about and at the same time, be able to attract customers from DIFFERENT walks of life (unless you have a specific target customers in mind?).

Thanks to all who have responded. I have done more thinking and research into key word activity on google etc. I also have the problem of wanting to avoid having a name too close to something already in place. So......I am now looking at the following. Basic, but clear and available. Remember, this is ultimately a web & word of mouth referral business. Your thoughts?
    *helpmebuyacar.com.au (big in google searches)
    *helpbuyacar.com.au
    *buymeacar.com.au
    *helpmefindacar.com.au
    Thanks again
