    Hi,

I have read your mission and vision statement and it is my understanding that you would like some ideas as your brand name.

    My suggestions:
    1) SupportYou Organization
    2) Helping Community Connection
    3) Helping You Get Help Group

Obviously some research should be devoted to SEO before a final name is chosen ;)

    Sincerely,

    Nicole Elmore

P.S. your personal tag line is great

    Dear Christine,

Mission. Vision. Purpose. Nearly all non-profits have these things and most of these organizations don't need them.

I'm saying this because your stakeholders and primary customers, few of these people care about your mission, vision, and purpose.

Most followers and friends of non-profits don't care about such things.

By all means have these things if it will make you feel better, but strategically, they're less effective and non-profit development staff give them credit for.

As for your organization's name, tell us where you are, geographically, and which denomination you serve.

For your congregation or flock, that's probably all they need to know.

The bulk of your mission statement, isn't that really your main message: the what you want to do and the who you want to do it for?

    These people are your customers.

Your vision and purpose, it needs to speak to the people who, financially, are in a better position to help you minister to your flock, to your customers.

For your name, tell people what you do and where you do it.

    Your brand?

That's really the worship and the glorification of the Man upstairs.

Marketing-wise, an I say this with the greatest respect, no brand is bigger. No brand is more far reaching.

Brands are not names or logos: they are the combined feelings in the hearts and minds of those that follow the message—whatever that message might be.

And Nicole, nice tag line. Though I suspect your use of your URL is against forum posting guidelines. Just so you know.

    Thanks Gary

I whole heartedly agree with what you are saying. I share our Mission, Vision and Purpose from our funding proposals -- which are intended to reach out to people we are asking to support this initiative.

you are quite correct, those we journey with as brothers and sisters in Christ are not interested in such things as mission and vision -- but I need a name for this new organization if I am to get it off the ground.

We are located in Vancouver BC.. This is part of the ministry of the Anglican Church, and we support everyone -- no demoninational affliation is required or asked, though prayers are offered.

    Thanks
    Christine

If you're located in Vancouver, and presumably you'll be helping people locally, then why not name it based on your community. For example:

    Vancouver Cares
    Vancouver House
    The Vancouver Net
    People Helping People In Vancouver

    Thanks Jay --

there are several other local area organizations with similar names. We need something unique...

We are about caring for our community and sharing God's love and hope
