Help With Company Name And Logos Etc

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My husband and I are RE/MAX realtors and also own a separate CAM business (Community Association Management). We keep turning down business becasue it has just been the two of us doing this small side business. We are ready to expand. We have used the intials of our Last Name for our company (A & A Select Management, LLC.) but find the A & A in the name created confusions for logos, etc. Where can I obtain help that is not too costly to help me rebrand our buisness? I would love some suggestions for company names and logos. We are in Florida and provide community associaiton management services and home watch services.

You mean "re-name," of course, not "re-brand."

In our world -- marketing -- the name of a company or brand is really important, because it's the one thing that will always stand as a symbol of what you are and do. And, from a visual standpoint, the logo should reinforce the name (and its meaning).

So where you need to start is by defining your target audience as precisely as possible, and then identifying the unique and important benefit you deliver for the target audience.

Once you have those two pieces, the goal should be to express them in a name/logo, so that prospective customers/clients know precisely what benefits they can expect when they hire you.

My bias is that if the name is really important to you, the right thing to do is hire a professional to guide you through the process. (It's like hiring a real estate professional when you're trying to sell a house.)

There's no way we'll be able to come up with suggestions and hit the nail on the head with just the information you've provided. That's like expecting to find the perfect house by just doing a few drive-bys.

You can find professional marketers by posting a project in the Hire an Expert section of this website (in the column at the right). Or you can browse through the profiles of some of the top experts on this forum to see if any of them strike you as being right for your project, and then just sending them a short email message to ask if they're available and what they'd charge.

P.S. One of the problems with "A&A" is that it only means something when people understand it's your names. It doesn't say anything about a benefit. Even "A+" would at least say "top quality" or "best in class."
