Need A Logo And A Tagline For My Company

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have a private investigations agency and need a smart and professional logo and tagline. I have multiple client types including attorneys, insurance companies, private citizens, employers of corporations and some government work. I am looking for something unique (not a magnifying glass, camera or gum shoe detective cartoon character) and not something that is frilly, cutesy or artsy. I need something that will be colorful, distinctive and intriguing. I also need a tagline to go with it. Again, something unique and clever but professional. I'm not looking for links to websites for help. I'm looking for actual ideas/artwork in either JPG, TIF, GIF or PNG formats. With this economy I've got a very limited advertising budget. If you are willing/can help I would appreciate it very much.

What's the name of your company and where are you located? Presumably you want the logo and tagline to "work" with the name of the company.

And what do you know about how your clients find you?

So where you need to start is by defining your target audience as precisely as possible (e.g., WHERE are they?, how do they select a private investigator?, etc.), and then identifying the unique and important benefit you deliver for the target audience (i.e., why YOU?).

Once you have those two pieces, the goal should be to express them in a tagline and logo, so that prospective customers/clients know precisely what benefits they can expect when they hire you.

My bias is that if this project is really important to you, as it should be IMO, the right thing to do is hire a professional to guide you through the process. (It's like hiring a professional investigator when you're trying track someone down.)

There's no way we'll be able to come up with suggestions and hit the nail on the head with just the information you've provided. (That's like trying to locate a person by riding the bus with the expectation that he or she will get on at the next stop.)

You can find professional marketers by posting a project in the Hire an Expert section of this website (in the column at the right). Or you can browse through the profiles of some of the top experts on this forum to see if any of them strike you as being right for your project, and then just sending them a short email message to ask if they're available and what they'd charge.
