Good Tagline For Small Time Photography Business

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm currently opening up a small photography business. I have no intention of making a full income off of the business more so friends, family, word of mouth, enthusiast if you will. If someday down the line I am able to make a full income that is fine but not what i'm striving for. So far I have between 1 and 2 names for my business..

My portfolio includes Portraiture, Family, Glamor, Scenery, and more. I guess you could say a little bit of everything.

1) Sunny Side Of The Street Photography (I really tried playing with the photography at the end to shorten the name. This name really screamed at me and despite it being long is kind of catchy and cheery and very welcoming in my opinion).
2) Reason To Remember Photography (I kinda liked this one but it didn't really scream at me. I would do it if it made more sense for advertising reasons, key words etc)

Between those two names I've come up with a couple of tag lines ..
1) Making your memories Last Forever
2) Because cherished moments should last a lifetime
3) Capturing the moments that matter
4) Saving today's memories for tomorrow

Opinions, new name suggestions, tag line suggestions are HIGHLY Appreciated. First time on this forum wasn't sure how detailed I should be. Thanks in advance for your time

Of the two, I prefer "Sunny Side Of The Street Photography". As you say it's cheery, it's also musical and it's about lighting, as is photography.

Regarding your four tagline options, they all sound generic to me, any photographer could use them just as easily as you. Your tagline should reflect something that is unique to you, your clients and your services.

    best of luck,

Thank you very much for your feedback. I've been tickling my brain all day trying to come up with a good tagline and I agree. I'm just very bad at naming things. I literally just came up with Sunny Side of the street because I had an image in my head and it's the name of one of my favorite songs by James Booker. Just kinda all fell into place like that. :D Your opinions are greatly appreciated : )

Again i'm not looking to make a full income off of this. I'd prefer to keep a name that I favor that's catchy then telling people what I can do for them. The photography in the title should tell them that. I'm a very outgoing person so before people are done with my front page and pictures they'll be well aware what I can do for them. As far as my first name Photography by Tiffany is already used by alot of photographers and my last name would be terrible FIUMETTO. I don't want to be just another professional with a boring name and personality. I believe my name has everything to do with it and I do highly appreciate your opinions : ) The biggest reason I want to open any kind of business is to make the people I work with happy. I feel I read people well and it would make me happy to see them happy with what I can offer them. Helping the world one smile at a time. Maybe I can do a tag line like "Saving your memories one smile at a time" haha

You go girl!! I like the "one smile at a time" tone with your name choice. Something like ...

    Sunny Side Of The Street
One Smile at a Time Photography

How about shortening your preferred name to "Sunny Side Photography"? It still will allow you to convey your "happy" vibe, and is a shorter name (easier to remember). The downside is the SunnySidePhotography.com is already a registered domain. SunnySideOfTheStreetPhotography.com is available.

Jay makes an excellent point, shorter is usually better, but it doesn't always have to be if you're really sold on creating a specific mental picture.

Take your time, you have many options, just play with it and let it settle.

It sounds like this business is really more about satisfying YOU, not making money. Accordingly, you don't need marketing input. Just do what feels right for you.

Our approach is always to look for the unique positioning benefit you provide for your target audience and then capturing that in a name and tagline. But this is a business where YOU are the target audience, so just do what feels right for you.

If catchy and cheery are what you want, then you have a good name already. Use it. If/when you want this to be primarily a commercial venture, then you can develop a marketing plan and a business plan, and see if the name fits with your new objective.

Making Memories Beautiful Forever, or just Making Memories Beautiful, or you can even do "capturing times greatest moments is what we do"

    Play with it!
    thanks!

well first tell me what is the unique service you are providing. it means that what service you are providing that your competitors are not providing. i do a little research and found that most of the photography business is providing Portraiture, Family, Glamor, Scenery, and more. that did not differentiate you. o.k.

your unique service will be your tagline in order to beat the competition.

the tagline i will suggest will be:

    making your past come alive.

    think about it.
