Need A Name For Grocery Delivery Business

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I need name suggestions for my grocery delivery service. Brain overload. It’s not a new concept for me (grocery shopping); I did grocery shopping/errands for a few clients some years ago.
Services were home care for elderly & handicap clients, errands, shopping, house cleaning, and laundry.
Clients were mostly bachelors, moms, busy professionals, seniors. About 15 clients

Most of the names I've considered are already taken. Delivered Goods, Goods n more, fill a cart, shop a lot., sweet pea, etc.

The Delimma:
1. Want to find a niche- homebound seniors, handicap, those recovering from surgery etc
2. Don’t want to leave out new parents, busy execs, students, those who can afford.
3. Also want to offer other errands (pharmacy, dry cleaners, medical supplies)
Name I'm considering is Lifeline Concierge and Errand Services. what do you think?
4. Don’t want to put myself in a box of just grocery shopping, but feel the name must convey grocery shopping to grab attention
5. Name must easily relate to seniors & their children
6. Choosing a model? A. shop and deliver as orders come in? B. full online grocery store, add on later
What’s unique
1. I will go to the home and pick up list
2. I will go shop at local store and bring back
3. I will unpack and put away groceries if you are sick or have limited mobility

So, if you have an aging parent local or in another city, state, what name would appeal to you. For yourself, or your loved one?

Catch phrase
“Don’t waste time waiting in line”

Best niche I’ve found
Bedrest Concierge – for pregnant moms on bed rest. Set up in various hospitals too. Very nicely done.

    When you say "Most of the names I've considered are already taken" - do you mean the domain names are no longer available, or that the names are trademarked, or that they're established/filed business names in your region?

    Since you're presumably serving a specific region, why not put the location in your name?

    As for name ideas to play with: "Let Us Run Your Errands" or "Personal Grocery Shopper" or "The Grocery Fairy".

    Is your brain overloaded, or is it conflicted? You state you want to find a niche, then you go on to describe several niches you also want to own. You state you don’t want to put your brand in a box, but that is exactly what niche marketing is, you select a box (niche) claim it, put your brand label on it and create all content and brand messaging to strategically support your claimed position. Otherwise stated, you take the “best fit” smaller piece of the pie to insure your success and then let the rest of the pie go to others.

    The brand name you select will be driven by the niche you select. Right now you have the cart before the horse. You don’t have a dilemma, you have a choice to make. "All niches, to all targets" is not a great start up position.

    Hope this helps,

    I truly appreciate all of your responses, it’s what I expected.

    Yes Jay, the domain names are already registered and/or already exist in other states. Now I know it sometimes takes months to ‘invent’ a unique, made up name spanx, google, yahoo, amazon, ibm, hectic helpers, lifestyle elements, simplify home solutions. These names don’t exist anywhere else.

    Yes, I would like to create brand recognition in case I decide to franchise or sell by business or take the business beyond the local market. And there will be increased value with a unique name with the right positioning.

    Steve Byrne is right, conflicted is the right word. This conflict would be resolved with additional market research to ensure and be clear about what the majority of the market demands. It is difficult to access the local malls to conduct market research, at lease without about $400+ in fees.

    Any suggestions for market research without the astronomical cost would be great. free ideas!

    I know what a niche is and I know I will have to choose one or the other. What I wrestle with is how to add or incorporate the other services later. Perhaps I will have to hire a marketing firm to help with that once I’ve established my base.

    So I’m thinking about going with Errands and just create specific ads for grocery shopping, house sitting, hospital errands, etc. to a specific audience.

    What do you think of these names?
    * Time Freedom Errand Services
    * Quality Time Errand Services
    * Time for Me Errands
    Great input. Thanks.

    Basically you want to shop for other people who can't do it themselves and do errands or services for them, right?

    Go straight to the point: Shop 'n' Serve For You or Shop 'n' Serve 4 U (to have some personal touch).

    Hope this helps.
