Lifestyle Blog Rebranding - Need Name/tagline

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I currently run a lifestyle blog where I talk about everything from health and wellness, personal growth, fashion, nutrition, and a little bit of everything aimed at women in their 30's. It is currently called 30-Something and Fabulous.
I really focus on living life to the fullest, about choosing happiness, and about being the best you that you can be.
The blog has been up for about a year, and it is now time to re-brand.
The url is my name (www.kristinhodnett.com), but I am looking for a blog name and tagline that is SEO friendly and clearly describes what my blog is about if someone where to only see the name/tagline.
I am considering just using Kristin Hodnett as the blog name and title, and making the tagline something along the lines of "live a life less ordinary with me" but am very open to ideas and suggestions!

If you think rebranding alone will increase your audience you've been misinformed. According to the Alexa rating for your site, most of your visitors are in the 35 to 44 age group and of the 156 sites linking in, a good many are parked domains. Might both these points be hurting your readership?

As for you rebranding, you might want to focus more on adding a description tag to your site. When your URL is typed into Google your main site description offers no clue as to who you are or who you're writing for. This fix alone will help your SEO.

If your site is a year old I'd avoid changing it: it's classed as an aged domain—it's been well crawled and indexed, so dumping this now won't help you.

You may be better off setting up more links to related sites and in offering content that's more relevant to your readership. You then promote this content and your site through social media.

Currently you have 60 followers on Facebook and 270 followers on Twitter: get better at pushing your content through social media and your audience will grow.

What's the objective, Kristin? WHY do you want a new name for the blog? What do you expect it to do for you? What's driving this question?

    Great question mgoodman!

There are a few things I want to accomplish with this. One, I'd like something more long term than 30-something. Two, I'd like something that doesn't come across as shallow as fabulous tends to (I think). I have evolved, the blog has evolved with me, and I'd like to reflect that. I don't feel that the name appropriately matches the content anymore. I feel like fabulous is a very superficial and generic adjective.

Thank you all so much for your ideas!

Gary, I appreciate your suggestions and will certainly research all of the ideas you've given me. As far as rebranding, it was more of a reflection of how the blog has evolved than an attempt to increase traffic. I just wanted to take SEO into consideration which is something I had not done with the previous name.

Unfortunately, none of the suggestions quite fit what I was looking for.
