Catchy Name For Dog Wine

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am going to produce dog wine! It will be non-alcoholic and will actually be a gravy to pour over kibbles. However it will be bottled in wine bottles and will have names like Pinot Leaseo, Savignon Bark, Barkundy, etc.

I need a catchy name for the business that has to do with both dogs and wine!!

You do not need a "catchy" name you need something that's relevant and appealing. The name is important but you need to clearly identify the product as one that's not for human consumption.

What other products are you competing against? How
are those products named and packaged? Where will this product be sold? What local laws might there be that might prevent any mimicry of alcohol-based packaging?

I think the Grapes of Ruff name from Jay is great. The Grapes of Wuff works as well.

You might want to avoid grape-related names as there might be issues of copyright. It's probably worth looking into this in greater detail before you go much farther.

My only competition was Bark Vineyards, but she has gone out of business.

Quite the unique idea, and as I say to many individuals who are trying to come up with a name that if often is something that just comes to you. While a name of a business is very important, I would argue that a name clearly describing your product while sounding semi-professional is the way to go.

Is your business online or is it brick and mortar? This could make a difference as well.

The business is strictly online, so the name of the business will be my domain name.

... in that case, your domain name needs to match (or mirror) the primary search term being sought, and your site description (the few words that will show up on Google) also need to contain a key phrase. Both these points will help your SEO.
