Signage Company-taglines Needed

Posted by Anonymous on 75 Points
We are a signage company that does sublimated and engraved signs. To date we have not done much for advertising as we are a fairly new company but being new with the company myself I want to start advertising like crazy. I am looking to build a tagline list that we can just go and pull from whenever laying out any advertising. That might be a Facebook ad, Amazon ad, flyers that go in our shipments or stickers that we give out around town....

Does anyone have any really cool tagline ideas? One example is a local company who does the big billboard signs. Whenever they have a blank billboard space that they are trying to fill....instead of leaving it blank they put "Tall upstanding type seeking wide relationship"

    Dear Melissa,

Rather than having a pool to pull from, if this is a line to go with your business name, for instance "XYZ Signs: Tag line, tag line" you need just one line, preferably one that telegraphs a primary benefit.

The bill board firm you're referring to is using a headline, which is not quite the same things as a tag line. Headlines change from ad to ad (generally speaking), tag lines remain static.

So, your tag line could address the needs of a specific group of customers, for instance:

XYZ Signs: The Sensible Choice In Signs.

XYZ Signs: Trusted By Top Executives

    and so on.

To set you apart or to anchor you to a specific trigger you could introduce a geographic area, or an occupation, or a niche into your tag line.

The point being that the benefit in the tag line needs to connect, on some level, with the people who are most likely to buy from you. Social identification and alignment with a message can be a powerful trigger.

If you'd consider telling us where you are and who you serve most often, perhaps we can help you in greater detail.

Our company is www.officesigncompany.com. I am looking for something quirky...fun....something to make us stand out against our competition.

As Gary has pointed out, you might be asking for an advertising "headline" list, or possibly a "keyword phrase" list, as much as for the tagline list. All three are relevant and the words and concepts developed could be somewhat interchangeable in messaging for your brand.

The concept/phrase "comprehensive wayfinding and identity signage solutions" has potential for all three of the above.

Also, you could repurpose the example you provided by using - "short upstanding type seeking small spaces"

Hope this helps as you explore your competitor's sites for further concept development ideas.

    Steve
