Photography Backdrops, Printed/digital & Props

Posted by tootsem on 50 Points
I am looking for a catchy name for my Etsy store. I would like to sell backgrops / floor drops / backgrounds for photographers, either printed or digital, as well as POSSIBLY digital props like hats, etc. I would like to focus on stuff mainly for babies and kids, but a bit for older kids and adults and seniors as well, as far as backgrounds, but the majority for babies/kids.
Thank you.

Babies and children do not shop for this kind of product.
Babies tend not to shop for anything.

You do NOT need a "catchy" name, you need a name that's relevant to your ideal buyer's needs.

You'd like to sell these things? Good? Do you know for a FACT that you also have buyers? If you do NOT know this, FIND OUT!

Babies and kids and adults, and seniors and who else? It sounds as if the whole world will be buying from you!

WHO is your ideal client? Answer this and then we can set about marketing to THEM.

Thank you most kindly for your private e-mail in which you suggested I, quote: "Get a clue!" and that you'd "asked for some NAMES for my shop..."

To date I have answered over 2,500 question on this forum roughly ten ow which have resulted in some kind of "outburst".

If you're going to respond to forum contributors, please have the decency, professionalism, and courtesy to do so PUBLICLY and NOT in private e-mails, as you've just done with me.

I suggest that it is YOU who ought to "get a clue" ... about your niche, about WHO it is you'll be serving and why, and more importantly, just why photographers ought to buy from YOU.

This means reviewing what it is that qualifies you to serve this niche.

What qualifies me to serve the marketing niche? Twenty seven years experience in the public and private sectors, as a designer, strategist, and manager ... and in which I've added hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

Know this: a name alone IS NOT ENOUGH. People buy based on "reason why" tiers of decision making NOT because of a name, no matter how "catchy" it might be.

It was also most gratifying to read that you were, and again I quote: "... not seeking a stupid response like this... "—similarly, I invest my time on this forum to help people, not to have my in box invaded or to have my day wasted by people who have no understanding of the process of business.

I answer questions on this forum in the vain hope that the people posting questions know enough about marketing to at least have first formed some kind of logical reason for their requests for additional help, as was clearly NOT the case in this instance.

If your venture is to flourish, I suggest you carry out a significant revision in the marketing and business planning you've done thus far (which ought not to be too difficult as I suspect that as of this morning this amount of work on your part consists of zero effort).

I wish you the best of luck with your venture and trust that fellow contributors will be better able to help you. If it is that Phil has also received an e-mail from you in a similar tone to the one I received, I'll be sure to pas on the details to the site administration people so that your IP address might be tracked and blocked.

Similarly, if I receive additional e-mails from you I'll be sure to report the issue to AOL as an abuse of the terms of service.

    Good day to you.

Please don't waste my time on your marketing tactics... I asked for something simple... ideas for a catchy name... I currently have another successful shop on Etsy and I don't need any snotty comments or brainless and rude answers, and useless marketing info.... I am NOT targeting babies everyone... I am targeting photographers... (as I already mentioned)... to sell backgrops to use for babies, kids, all the way to seniors...
I appreciate all kind ideas for a catchy name for my shop.
    Thank you.

That was some "decenty, professionalism, and courtesy", unlike your first response.
