Company Name And Possible Tagline

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have recently taking up a position as Head coach at an elite School where my passion for field hockey can be used. I was asked if I wish to coach at the school camp. 'Hockey Academy' that had over 300 kids attending over 5 days. I was surprised at the volume of kids and thought about organising my own camps.

These camps will take place in scotland and I have the idea of using the scottish flag as my logo with the crosses acting as hockey sticks. But i need a eye catching logo with and ear dropping slogan. None of which are my strong points and hope that someone can help: -

ideas ive came up with so far which dont inspire :-
C4H - coach for hockey and your development
Hoc-Camps - Fun exciting new development camp

hockey academy/Scottish hockey camp/skoolsports/school of sport already used your help would be appreciated thank you all

If your plan is to start your own event, apart from your school duties, you might want to review any and all possible contract clauses about conflict of interest: if you're employed as a hockey coach and you go off and do your own thing on school time or while you're still employed by the school, you create (intentionally or not) a situation that could be seen as a conflict of interest and one that could, in theory, be used to justify the termination of your employment.

As for a logo, you need to hire a designer, not a marketer. Here, I advise working WITH a professional designer, NOT with the son or daughter of a friend of a friend who is "good at art", you need someone who knows what they're doing, which means paying for it.

As for a tag line, without a name in place, the tag line can't work. Ideally, the name needs to convey what you'll do for your ideal clients and sadly, "Hoc Camps" doesn't do that: you'll have people asking "What's a hoc?" which is not good.

So, before you go any farther, you need to figure out any issues of conflict and you need to resolve them, otherwise you're shooting in the dark.

Take The Field - "We build hockey champions"

Future Stars Camp - "Scotland's premier hockey camp"

Highland Hockey Academy - "Girls with sticks"

Elite Field Hockey - "Where the best come to play"

Mix and match names and taglines and see if you like any of them.

These are based on a brand emphasizing skill, high level, exclusive, etc. If you're looking to with with freindly, open, fun, then you would need something softer.

Thanks Gary for your comments and your exactly right I had to ask for permission and have since had it installed in my contract that allows me to run these camps when im not in school ie school holidays.

On the design front yeah ive put money aside for the logo to be done and im sure a designer may come up with a variety of ideas still to source but I felt I should have a brand and a tagline just incase additional branding was needed. I agree with your thoughts and thank you for your time.

    additional names : -

    hockey revolution
    stay and play
    total hockey

these are just ideas but are aimed at kids between 10-18 its mainly to be noticed and be easy for word of mouth so hopefully something can happen

    thanks again
