Small Group Personal Training Studio

Posted by ar_barker on 2750 Points
I am opening a new training studio which desperately needs a creative name that captures the ideas of mobility, energy, movement, strength and health. Clients will work in groups of three to each trainer, and the space will be bright and open with a marked absence of traditional cardio and weights machines. Instead we focus on mobility and functionality, using a variety of tools from kettlebells and dumbells to TRX, Power Plate vibration platforms, ropes, and medicine balls. Most clients want weight loss and lean muscle. The spacious studio also overlooks the beach, and has an outdoor terrace, so the feel is very open and fresh.

Visions of greater mobility, energy, movement, strength and health speak aspirationally to people's imagined futures, something you'll do well to reinforce with associated images of people in your target group's age range achieving those goals.

To connect the dots I'd advise a name and tag line combination that positions your studio and that conditions the thinking of your ideal client to see themselves achieving real world results at their own pace.

    Possible names might include:

    NAME: Dynamic Results:
TAG LINE: Health and Strength Through Personal Endeavor

    NAME: Fit For Life:
TAG LINE: Personal Results From Professional Trainers

    NAME: Better Bodies:
TAG LINE: Empowering Your Physical Health

I hope these help, or that they spark further debate and thinking. Good luck with your studio.

Thanks, Jay. I like The Power of 3...not sure it rolls off the tongue very easily though. Have to consider how easy it is to say when answering the phone all day

Thanks, Gary. Some very helpful thoughts there. Dynamic Results has potential, great tag too.

Part of the appeal, it seems to me, is the return to more traditional and proven methods of improving fitness.

So you might want to consider a classic style of name:

    GYMNASIA

    ACADEMY OF FITNESS

    FORTIUS (Latin for 'stronger')

And a tagline that emphasizes your USP (Unique Selling Point):

    Fewer Gadgets, Better Results

    We Build Better Bodies

    Old School Fitness

    Proven Methods of Physical Culture

Some mixing and matching of words may spark the name you need ...

Thanks for pitching in so far, folks. The old-school, traditional thing isn't really what I'm about - it's more to do with three dimensional exercises that enhance a person's sphere of function. Some of the tools I use are old-school, but there's more new stuff than old. I'll leave this up a couple more days in case some bright spark hits the nail on the head!

The idea of three-dimensional exercises gave me these thoughts:

    Name: 3D Life Fitness Centre
Tagline: Build Strength for Lasting Health

3d fitness is an awesome name for functional training. Flexibilty, strength and cardio.

Thanks for your help, everyone. Some good debate followed though we haven't landed on it yet. Hard to find a name that hasn't been taken, but we'll get there.
