Who will be buying your sauce and where (meaning what kind of retail platform) will it be available?

thank you for your responses... my sauce is unique delicious and no other way to describe it other than anyone who tries it is quickly addicted, the peruvians make it but my mother has formulated it a whole lot better, it has a sour cream base so right now we can only hit local markets due to refrigeration needs, so we are at farmers markets, and local (Tucson, AZ) city events until we can make enough money with it to market it and truck it in refrigerated trucks, my friends in the catering business love it, they use it as a spread, other friends have cooked with it and others just eat an entire bag of potato chips with it, once you try it you cant stop! thanks again!

Forget friends, relatives, and loved ones. Forget the people in Peru: they are not your primary customers. What is it about your sauce that makes you the best person to make it and sell it? What's the story behind the product? What feeling do you want your ideal buyer to feel as a result of buying your product?

    Dear Nemelianoff,

Randall (MONMARK) has given you grade "A" advice:
    heed it.

Despite your rudeness, i will accept it as constructive and answer your questions. Thank you for your input.

I do have a marketing plan and I explained before i can only market to local shops as of now, meaning mom and pop stores, meat markets, the general public, city and street events, hot dog stands, farmers markets etc. the walmarts and Costco's of the world will have to wait for reasons that i again explained, the product is refrigerated and is currently being tested at the UofA for product duration longer than 7 days. and shipping it across the country is not feasible as of now. My sauce is very unique, it's spicy yet not to the point where your mouth is on fire, it was created by my mother, she created the recipe when we went to a peruvian restaurant and had the sauce on the table, her recipe is way better than theirs now. it looks like guacamole but is not, it's refreshing, spicy and there i nothing out there like it. it can be used as a condiment, a dip and or cook with it. it's fresh and original. This is why I asked for help from you people, we have found NO ONE who has tasted it and disliked it. We are doing well with sales right now, but I am ready to market it with brochures etc, as I have mentioned before I just started this business and just received my manufactures license. and I was hoping to get an idea for a tag line and additional marketing tips, I am clearly aware of my limitations, but despite obstacles I will continue to pass it around like wildfire until every household in my immediate area has it in their refrigerator.

If the problem is shelf-stability, then why not turn your product into a packet that you can add to sour cream and blend it fresh when you need it? Then your distribution problems would be much simpler.

I thought of that too but decided on starting with the local markets first, so far so good, once the professor completes his shelf life study we can put a longer expiration date on the product, for now we will work with it at a local level. thnks for your input.

Rude? Who's being rude? Among other things you asked
for "marketing tips". Randall, Jay, Phil, and Michael are the
BEST people to advise you—which they're doing at no fee
to you, so you just might want to park your snippy attitude.

No one here is at your beck and call and for 25 points and
a vague positioning statement about you not resting until your product is in the fridge of every household in your area (which isn't realistic because "everyone" is not your customer), I think the responses you've received thus far have been more than helpful.

Wow... I wonder if someone told Mr hunts or Mr Heinz the same thing.... I'm sorry I thought I was dealing with people knew something about marketing, it seems to me that you are only interested in yourself... thanks for your time which amounted to nothing!!!

Everyone is not your customer because not everyone likes salsa-style condiments. You've provided too little information on which to base ideas for a tag line. You have a story that, if you are wise, you will tell and tell well. Why? Because in order to become the loyal customer base you seek, people need to hear that story so that they can then retell it.

You have a long way to go before you can measure your success against Henry John Heinz. He went bankrupt before he founded the company he is now famous for.

As for dealing with people who know something about marketing, this logical fallacy mindset will be your undoing.

If you speak of your customers in the same way you speak of people you've turned to for help, your sauce will fail.

Simply because you are not having a path beaten to your door with the answers YOU want to hear does not render the feedback you've receive thus far moot. You ask for "marketing tips" and then, when questions are raised, you throw the advice back at people in disgust?

If you are to succeed in your niche I suggest you, sir, develop a thicker skin, a less fallacious mindset, and a willingness to accept constructive assistance—EVEN IF it counters your idealized. rose-tinted view of the world.

As for whoever it is that you claim is only interested in themselves, this, sir, is the pot calling the kettle black. The contributors of this forum invest hundreds of hours each month in order to help people. Were you paying for that time you would think better of the responses you receive and of the directions you then set out on.

Good day to you, and good luck.
