Staffing Company Needs Name

Posted by adam.mcmahon on 125 Points
I have a staffing company with the name Rapid Staffing, but all domain names for a website that say: www. rapidstaff. com, www. rapidstaffing. com are taken.

We supply workers to automotive company's, some examples are: Welders, PLC Programmers, General Maintenance, Robot Programmers, as well as, Tool Crib Managers, Quality Control Engineers, and other odds and ends jobs a company may need. We pride ourselves on fast, reliable service. Quality workers, and the relationships we try to build with our customers makes our company stand out against the crowd.

Now that you understand what we offer, who we offer it too, and why we need to change names, I hope you can help us brainstorm on a new name. Now I'm not looking for anything in particular, (other than a staffing company name), and am always up to a great discussion. Please help! I feel that with the right comments, even if we dont get an exact name from you, we can spin off of what you say and come up with a great name.

Thank you for your time and your help.
I look forward to hearing many great ideas.

"We pride ourselves on fast .." so if you want to stick with the rapid concepts, these words will also work for you:

    express
    quick
    speedy
    swift
    agile
    PDQ
    Blue Streak
    Pronto

That's were we run into trouble. Our problem is finding a name that's easy to remember, rolls of the toungue and still describes what we do. Any suggestions on what we can use those words with?
We would like to not use the typical "Superior Staffing" but it rolls of the toungue so fluently. Possibly Express Staff Agents?

How about "Staff Up Fast"? StaffUpFast.com is currently available.

I like the idea. I'm hoping for something with the words: "Staffing, Staff, or Solutions in it. But I believe "Staff Up Fast" isn't in the right direction of what were looking for. I truly do appreciate the comment. But what we need is a name that when you hear, it's an instant attention grabber, and makes you want to choose us over the next guy. With today's staffing market being so open-ended, we understand that with great service and relationships with our clients your name doesn't exactly mean everything. However, a great name is the foundation for which you pave your company bricks. Thank you all for your input, let's keep this rolling.

    Staff Giraffe
A Long Reach For Quick Solutions

A good graphic designer could do wonders with a logo, and a logotype. The tagline could use some more refinement.

We are looking for a strong stern name, something that shows dominency in our trade. Something like Steel man staffing, that was one of our first ideas along with Field Service Providers. Very specific I know. So in summary we are looking for a strong name that shows domenincy over our competition, an instant attention grabber that separates us from other companies, and a nice transition between the two which will cause our name to be at the top of customers minds when it comes time for decision making. It needs to roll of the toungue. But we're headed in the right direction with staff giraffe, the transition is nice, now if only we can find the power behind it.

    Adam,

You were asking for a name that was an "instant attention grabber" ... now you're asking for a name that is a "strong stern name" something like "Steel Man"? But not Steel Giraffe Staffing but maybe Rhino Staffing or ??

Your naming criteria is a moving target. You have a written plan and a written USP, what is your creative brief? Why do you keep changing it?

oops, another poster has the written plan and USP. Sorry for the confusion.

Just the creative brief will do.

Steve, I understand that we might sound a little picky but after all. This is the first thing a costumer relates us to. Our name.

Adam, it's not about being "a little picky", it's about having clarity and communicating with clarity your positioning message. If you don't know what it is yet, we are left to guess.

Having a "strong stern name" is not a position, and I doubt it will have any meaning for your target audience.

Phil's suggestion of "Rapid Staffing Solutions" is definitely worth considering.

    RapidStaffNow.com
    RapidStaffASAP.com

    Both are available.

Steve I understand where your coming from, but let's be realistic here. With a weak name, or bland name your associated with weak work, or bland work. That's like saying if this website was called mediocre marketing profs, that people would still use it. Yes, Phil that is a great name but the website is taken lol. That seems to be our number 1 problem. Finding a good name that is still available. Thanks for all your help guys, let's keep brainstorming together.

Adam, apparently you do not understand where I'm coming from. That's ok, carry on with the brainstorming and best of luck

Steve, I'm not trying to offend you. I was simply trying to clarify where I was coming from, and why I am having such a hard time choosing a name. I hope you all know I'm not hear to argue or disagree with anyone, nor am I hear to offend or shut down any of your inputs. I'm here for help with this problem we are running into. The way to give good answers is to ask good questions so I see where Steve is coming from. Honestly though, I don't have all the answers lol, that's why we're here. Let's work together on this.

No offense taken Adam. I have been answering questions on this site for 10 years, and every situation has its own unique issues.

I believe you would benefit from working with one the "expert" marketing professionals on this site. You can click on their names to get contact info and learn more about them. You can click on my name and contact me as well.

That is probably our next step if all else fails here.

FWIW, whether you work with an expert or try to find a name with our contributions, you need to start with a crisp and clear Creative Brief. If you can't define the criteria for a good name that communicates your positioning benefit, you'll never find a winner. And when it's a moving target, most experts will just give up and go home.

Net: Direct your energy and passion toward developing a great Creative Brief. Then use the Creative Brief as the objective "judge" of name suggestions.
