Small, Promoting People, Events, Businesses

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am starting a small business which will promote people (local entertainers, writers, other talent), community and regional events, as well as businesses in northern Georgia. I have thought of TRIPPLE PLAY PROMOTIONS, but am not really happy with that name. I don't want to use the overworked reference to gold, or mountains--I'm in the mountains of north Georgia in the town that was the site of the first gold rush in the U.S. I really liked MOUNTAIN GOLD PROMOTIONS, but everyone is sick of businesses in the area that use those words. I have already sort of fallen into the job and have several clients, but no permanent name for my business. Please help. Thanks

You are in the US. That means you need to establish your niche before you really get going. Either that, or you need to establish where the most profitable part is very quickly and intensify that element if you are to survive.

Since you are local/regional, then choose something that reflects that. I looked up the 1829 Georgia gold rush and it centered around White County.

    My two pennies' worth:

"White County Productions, Doing Things Down Your Way" (or your local county).

It is rather dull, it is however local and defines you as local not national. Everything you do should reflect the fact that you are local. Don't have an 800 number, have a local dialing code ;-)

    Wish you well, Gemma x

You're probably better off not using the word "promotions", which may convey that you sell branded items. Instead, how about simply "Georgia Publicity" (GeorgiaPublicity.com) or "Georgia Publicity Agency" (GeorgiaPublicityAgency.com)? Both domains are currently available.

    Hi
Self-explanatory names are helpful for marketing purposes. Yes, I know that Nestlé or Google or Cadbury do not explain their product.

But consider creating the name by combining words and meanings. Like "Georgia Talents" or "Creative Profs" (both domains free). One word related to the area (Georgia), and the other to the subject (the professionals).

Whatever you decide, keep in mind the "local network" concept to make it more atractive for the involved community.

    Best luck!
    Alberto
