I Need A Tag Line For My New Business

Posted by stacey on 125 Points
I just started a company called Sophisticated Bliss. It is an upscale adult novelty company. We will be doing home parties and online sales as well and I am having a hard time coming up with a tag line. I don't want to use something somebody already has and I'd like to somehow trademark it (although I am not sure how that works either) I know how important tag lines are in this type of business. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the more focussed you can be with your target client, the easier it is to come up with good copy. That includes taglines. At present, and with a look at your profile, there isn't much for us to go on.

We need to know: where you are, who you are, who your perfect customer is and what they love most. It would help if you could tell us why they should come to you and not a myriad others.

In the meantime try ... Have fun in party heaven.

Don't spend your time worrying about the trademark issue. What a trademark gives you is the right to spend a lot of money to retain an attorney to defend your mark against anyone else who would use it. Of course, you will need to show some damages as a direct result of the infringement, and you have to pay your attorney before you know if there's even a chance you might ever recover anything.

So think instead about why you want a tagline for good and valid business reasons. What do you think it will do for you? How will you ever know if it's helping, hurting, or just taking up space on your business card?

And then think about what it is you're trying to communicate in the tagline. If we come up with a dozen tagline suggestions, how will you decide which one to use? What are the criteria for picking a winner?

If we have this additional information, there's a good chance we can deliver for you. If we don't, the chances we'll be helpful are very slim.
