Need Tagline For Event Design Company

Posted by flaminia09 on 250 Points
Hello,
I need help with a tag line for my new business. Its a boutique event design and floral arrangement company. We do all type of events but will probably start off with weddings first. I'm still not sure if I only want to specialize on weddings or all type of events yet.
Our services vary from flowers, to chuppas, to table linens. We offer a full "event styling service". The name of my company is Flowers&Beyond. I want to give the idea that each client will get our full undivided attention, and that we are a team of young creative professionals with passion for the industry and many innovative ideas.
I appreciate your help,
FV

you don't need a tagline, you need a USP. In a crowded market it will set you above and apart from everybody else

... to those people you want.

Everyone else won't take any notice, but then they wouldn't anyway - so what's the difference?

Can we have something special that really makes you different, in very real terms. This is extremely hard to do, and just looking in the mirror won't be enough. Check your references - send them an email asking them what they really liked about your business. And, ask them to be truthful: ask them what they **didn't like**.

Because this last is the bone-cruncher. To really set yourself apart, make yourself genuine, state something that is bad about your business. Fess up to it, be totally honest about it. Your best clients won't mind at all and your worst ones wouldn't like you even if you bent over backwards twice.

That is the first step to getting your USP (unique selling proposition - Rosser Reeves, Reality in Advertising, 1961).

You say "I want to give the idea that each client will get our full undivided attention, and that we are a team of young creative professionals with passion for the industry and many innovative ideas."

Tell them something you don't do - or can't - and this will tell your visitors that you are honest. Because it isn't something that a charlatan will ever do!!

    In the mean time:

    Doing it with flowers

    Your floral team

    Petals, petals and more petals.

    Powered by flowers!

But yet contrary to the above, a tagline sometimes is of a neccessity. Its just like nike says, ";Just do it', it sends a lot of message. that is why i proposed the above tagline..

    Flowers&Beyond

    Imagination. Passion. Attention

No long story, just to the point.

    Welcome to the Forum!

You say **Its just like nike says, "Just do it', it sends a lot of message.** my question to you is this: does the questioner have the sort of money to throw around that Nike has? Branding a poor message takes heaps of money and brings poor returns.

Just because the big corporations do it does not mean that they should. In many respects they are an example of what you shouldn't do.

My other question to you is when you make a claim like "Imagination, Passion, Attention" how does that differentiate you from everyone else who claims this too? How many people claim "Slovenliness, Untidiness and Inattention"???

If you want to stand out in the crowd, and not spend millions on doing so, you have to get clever. A catchy tagline is only any good if you can back it up - that's when it becomes part 1 of your USP. I presume you have read the quoted work? It has been around for 50 years and it is still ignored.

    I know why. Do you?

(Aside: Can you change the name of the company to be a bit more descriptive, such as: "Flowers & Beyond Events"?)
