Tagline/name For Hand Made Unique Rabbit Costumes.

Posted by terry on 250 Points
My mum just started a business tailoring unique themed rabbit outfits / costumes.

One of the latest designs is an outfit for a pair of rabbits to symbolise a wedding ceremony. The male rabbit is kitted out in a Tuxedo, and the female rabbit's costume even comes with a Veil.

All the outfits/costumes are hand tailored, by my mum, Jenny from Malaysia. Her designs are unique, and custom tailored outfits are available on special order.

I am helping my mum, with the website, and while many people think it is crazy to dress rabbits in an outfit, there is a huge growing demand from "Rabbit Lovers" to showcase/show off their "babies" in their own special way.

I really need help with a name for the business together with a ""Corny", but memorable name with a "cheeky", tag line.

The rabbit costumes are her core business, and we do not do any other accessories or foods for rabbits.

Thank you all so much!

Terry

Okay, well you have your niche at least! Because there will be enough of them to employ you worldwide.

So how are they going to find you? Looking at what your bunny fanciers want will do a great deal when it comes to discovering your tagline.

I like "Bunny Love" only it doesn't say much about what you can do for your customers. After all, it isn't the bunnies who want clothing.

    Any good?

Oh, and why not christening suits? After all, rabbits are known for their big families, surely this would be more of a money spinner for you ;-) ;-) ;-)

Costumes for rabbits? Good for you! Goes to show there's a market for everything and a buyer for every niche item, no matter how unusual it is. Hey, people dress up their cats and dogs, why not their rabbits too?

Your best bet is to ditch the cheeky/corny approach (particularly if you're selling online), and opt for simple search term-related names such as:

    Clothes for rabbits
    Costumes for rabbits

Both phrases are available as top level domain names (dot coms), and each phrase offers decent monthly search volume (meaning people looking) at 2,500 and 2,900 searches per term respectively. With a simple site that's well optimized for search terms and keyword phrases you have real potential to own the first position on page one of Google with relative ease. I strongly suggest you consider buying both domain names and that you then replicate your first site to fit both terms, I urge you to do this and to tweak the copy slightly so that it's not identical on both sites which will then effectively double your visibility and your profitability.

These 1st. place positions on Google potentially give you 35 to 40 percent (or so) of monthly traffic, which ought to convert to sales at one percent or more.

Tag line-wise, you've already written one: unique themed rabbit outfits and costumes.

Keep it simple and user terms that people are searching for. Use Facebook to help spread the word and to act as another virtual store window. Link your social media presence to your site and vice versa. Create short videos of bunnies in your costumes and set up a YouTube account that you also link to your site and to Facebook. Bring in Twitter later but use Facebook to generate some visibility first by showcasing your videos and by showing people how cute THEIR rabbits can look in your costumes.

As for hand tailoring, your better bet, once orders begin coming in and you know what's likely to sell well, is to offer a range of costumes that you mass produce. This will reduce your production costs (hand work being labour intensive), increase your cash flow, and, in the longer term, increase your profit margin.

Good luck to you and your Mum!
